He’ll only be against it until they find a way to tax the hell out of it.
And of course, the money will be “for the children”....
Protecting the booze industry?
Not surprising considering the Kennedy family business.
What does treatment for marijuana abuse consist of...make people not want to feel good?
Use the power of the government to kill your competition......
Legalization might force him to report other income.
I would have thought the same thing but didn't this one also have a drug problem?
His reasoning: “Pills are pretty good, legal, and I can always get them if I want them between rehabs.”
The dirty secret is the illegal drug industry is booming. By fighting a “War on Drugs” profit margins climb. RI recently approved medical MJ. I’ll assume Mr. Kennedy is worried about his “business interests” and is setting up an organization that hurts his competition.
Work tends to annoy dope smokers.
Patrick Kennedy is mentally ill. His friends and family should not let him get near marijuana.
I would say that is mostly true for habitual pot smokers. Recreational use, not so much. A close family member to me is high most of his waking hours and is probably the hardest working guys I know. (No its not me)
Of course! Patches isn’t a pothead! His drugs of choice are chivas regal, mixed with some cocaine and prescription meds! Just another drunk/stoned Kennedy hypocrite blathering on because of “nobless oblige.”
Because it's government's job to jail adults for doing things that are bad for their health. Next to go are Big Gulps, cheeseburgers, and staying up past 10:30 if you have work the next day.
So he drives back and forth to work while he is high?
Unfortunately yes. Most addicts do. Actually I think he is so accustomed to his state that he is fully functional. He is also a moderately successful business owner. I won’t get into specifics.
Therein lies the rub. He drives around stoned and thinks nothing of it because stoned is normal for him.
Agreed. I’ve known him for over 30 years and he has been that way since the first day I met him. His family life, on the other hand, is a disaster.
Oldest child was kicked out of college for selling drugs, 2 DUIs and underage drinking. Second child has 2 children out of wedlock and is on government assistance. Youngest just got arrested for armed bank robbery.
Everything comes with a price. You hope and pray that the people you love realize it. Some folks have to learn the hard way.
