An unruly passenger who got drunk and belligerent on a Kennedy Airport-bound intercontinental flight yesterday was subdued by passengers and taped to his seat the rest of the way, according to witness reports.
The passenger, who was on an Icelandair flight, drank all of his duty-free liquor on the flight, tried to choke the woman next to him and was screaming the plane was going to crash, according to passenger Andy Ellwood, who snapped the mans photo and posted it to his blog.

Then when the plane crashed he was the only survivor because he was safely secured to his seat.

There's guys out there who'd pay extra to have a stewardess tie them up like that.

I ALWAYS have roll of duct tape in my carry on when I fly. For THIS reason, and because few things are more useful on a trip then duct tape.
Suitcase breaks, handle breaks, curtain in room lets in light, forgot mount for GPS, duct tape is the answer....

I like how they let him wear his eyeglasses.

Bizarrely, federal prosecutors declined to prosecute the menace because passengers wouldnt come forward to detail the mans threatening behavior to authorities, a source told The Post. None of the crew would either?

Isn’t it about time they stopped serving alcohol in airports and on planes?

Duct tape is like the Force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the Universe together.

While I agree with what happened to this drunk SOB was justified, I can’t help but wondering what would have happened if he got sick and threw up.
Oh well. He himself was to blame.

Isnt it about time they stopped serving alcohol in airports and on planes? You ask the right question. Airlines are hypersensitive to unruly passengers -- to the point of going overboard at times-- but their concern is understandable given the security risks. One would think that cutting off alcohol would be a way to avoid these situations. However, that would reduce one huge profit center on flights and we know airlines aren't going to do that without a fight (no pun intended).
