Are you a cop? Do you carry a gun? Don't go to the Denny's in Belleville, Ill.
You are not allowed, the police chief says. Not after what happened Tuesday.
The flapjacks -- sorry, the flap -- began when several on-duty detectives with the Belleville Police Department dropped in to Denny's for some on-duty noshing, according to local media.

I’m getting da_n sick and tired of one partron, one parent or one any individual complaining and having schools change activities and businesses change policies that then offend hundreds or thousands. This is getting totally ridiculous. Tell the individual to shove it.
Prime armed-robbery target from here on. Sitting ducks.

Hey these restaurant owners have heard for weeks everyone is SAFER when there are no guns on premises.
They are just applying what the libtard msm and anti-gun folks, AMA and all the rest have been preaching forever.
Doesn’t matter who’s carrying the guns. This is zero tolerance libtard logic that you don’t (and are not) allowed to think about. It’s best if you don’t, and just shout the libtard mantra slogans until the other side laughs and goes away.
Don’t agree with gun-free zones, but I do agree that if it applies to any it applies to all.
And, let the chips fall. If cops are prohibited entry into Denny’s, then Denny’s gets to deal with that new reality. Stupidity has consequences.
I’m not getting this anti-police sentiment in some of the above comments. The police don’t make the laws. Also, how is it that you want the police in your children’s schools to provide security, but not in Denny’s. You are not allowed in the schools with a gun either. I’m thinking a few have personal agendas and are just venting.
Divied, we fall.

The old saying, ‘You can’t fix stupid.’ applies to the Denny’s in Belleville.........
It’ nice to see cause and effect. Denny’s, thank the media for this. The low information person will always be with us. Just ask Obama. They’re his voting block.
Concur. What are these cops position on me carrying openly in Denny's?
As far as I'm concerned, if I can't carry, then they can't carry.
Denny's after 11pm= thug central.
I was thinking the same thing.
They should hang a sign in the front window:
Attention Criminals:
This store is GUN AND COP FREE
I remember as a child when we would go to a restaurant and I would see cops with their gun. I would tell my mother “look there are cops with gun in here” My dear mother (RIP) said “Honey I rather see them here because I feel safe in here. If anything happens I know they will shoot back and kill the evil person” After I never mentioned a cop in a public place, now I see what my mother meant. I too feel safe to know there is a gun holder in the premise. Though I wish cops could sit near a corner and not near the entrance incase some wacko comes in and sees them.
But they do choose to enforce them. When they do so, they have picked their side.
When your patrons are mostly gangbangers, hood rats and derelicts ... cops hurt business.

..have a (long deceased) uncle who, with his wife, operated a fast food diner in Carlstadt, NJ. just off an interstate in the 40’s, 50’, 60’s.
cops were not only welcome there, but could get a free meal to boot!
never had a problem with lowlifes the entire time they had the business, evah..
“But they do choose to enforce them. When they do so, they have picked their side.”
What side is that? Enlighten me.
