this appears to be the second vote(i guess) our supposed teaparty friends will probably say they voted against him first vote but then it came around to a 2nd vote and they were worried pelosi would win. quite frankly we might as well have Pelosi.

I’m afraid our ballot box ship has already sailed. Seems to be a matter of what now is left that a minority of Americans can together do, to change anything. I wonder what that could be. How much complyin’, cooperatin’ and caving are we going to give away.

This is no longer a conservative country, let alone Christian. Young adults can’t spell l-i-b-e-r-t-y, as we knew it, and most of those who know what has been lost are approaching octogenarians, whom the Marxists look forward to see dying off.

I agree with my favorite curmudgeon, Ron Paul.

Because Libertarians are despised by R’s and D’s, I am more interested by the day. Besides, there is so much to agree with RP on.

That’s what they’re counting on— us dying off.

After all, it is us who recognize exactly how much has been lost.

So tell me again Mr. and Mrs. Conservative: What is your reason for continuing to support the Republican Party?

I can't speak for Mrs. Conservative but as the Mr. in my house -- absolutely none.

Both the R's and D's are parties of BIG GOVERNMENT and that is not something I can support. I used to hold my nose and vote R, but can't do that anymore either. At some point you draw the line.

I teach my kids (14 and 16 year old boys) that Government is NOT here to "help them" ... rather, Government is the problem and an adversary in their life. That's as it should be.

Do you need pictures? Hell, NO, we don’t have enough conservatives, and what two or three we do have RUN NOTHING in the House, but in circles to re-elect RINO socialists. Clue?

I agree with you that America has lost its way, and that it is unfixable in a system that rewards voters who reward those who provide them with entitlements.

America’s only hope is another great spiritual awakening.

Since that is a work of God and not of man, one has to wonder if God will smile on this nation once again. It is a work of God, but our part is to proclaim.

Perhaps the religion forum always was the strength of FR while political discussion was a sideline.

Oddly enough, conservative victories seem to coincide with evangelistic fervor....Hezekiah, Josiah, Nehemiah, etc. Somehow our religious leaders got the impression that “balanced budget and job growth” is our strength.

I believe the groups that realize the power of evangelical outreach are the uber-liberal groups like “people for the American way” and “freedom from religion foundation”, which are designed specifically to attack Christian outreach.

America’s only hope is another great spiritual awakening.

I don't see it happening. You're right it is a work of God and if it were to happen I would be rejoicing in it. The other side of this is as darkness sweeps the land and the world I'm motivated to share The Gospel more.

I just finished a book by Mark Steyn, " After America". It is the follow up to "America Alone". I highly recommend it. The big question no one has considered is how will the world look after the collapse of the American Empire.

I believe the decline of the USA is locked in. We have a whole bunch of reasons demographics, education, socialism and secularism/humanism. The ongoing attack on Christianity and the importance of GOD in our lives is the linchpin. Once the socialists destroy the importance of our faith replacing GOD with govt will be easy. From what I've seen 7 day a week Christians are already a minority so I don't expect the country to recognize how far we've fallen and our need to seek GOD.

Look at how we've turned our backs on our Judeo Christian heritage. We steal from one group to give to another group. We don't expect people to work for their food. We don't value life. We don't respect marriage, or how GOD wants us to have sexual relationships. We expect govt to replace our churches in helping those in need. The end result is what we have is a people who look first to govt to solve every perceived problem.

The socialist are achieving everything they want. Because of the unwillingness of Americans to "give back" any of their benefits (conservatives included) our military will be cut by 50% over the next 10 yrs. Because we sell so many bonds to China to pay for our deficits they now are financing their military budget/expansion with our interest payments to them. Manufacturing has declined in the USA because we need to "make business pay it's fair share" and unions have artificially inflated labor costs. At some point our military decline and economic decline will lead to our standard of living declining and being impacted by the decision making of other nations.

The socialists are so immature in their critical reasoning that they don't understand that as the USA declines the world will decline because those nations that will replace us do not have a Judeo Christian heritage. Also, as the world declines they will in turn blame this decline on the USA and the USA will be like Israel, alone and under attack from all sides.

There’s a huge piece of me that believes everything you just wrote, Wm.

At the same time, 2 things draw my attention:

1. The Grace of God. For, “Where iniquity doth abound, grace doth much more abound.”

2. The fury of the attack by the powers and principalities against Christians can only mean that they sense that through Christ we are still very, very dangerous.

Is their hatred driven by an understanding that we are on a better path, or by a sense of superiority. I think there is no doubt that Satan understands we are very dangerous. He knows because when we call on the LORD he is powerless. However Satan has his "useful idiots". I think the socialists fall into that category. The socialists are convinced that Christians are just "ignorant".

In the end these "useful idiots" will stand before Jesus at the White Throne and will see who was the idiot. We share The Gospel, but these useful idiots don't understand why. They only see the change in Born Again Christians and don't want to give up their way of life.Thankfully the LORD will wipe away our tears because we don't want to see anyone lost for eternity.

America had a mini-awakening in the 70's and 80's.

My observation: The children of that generation have not had one yet, and have mostly defected. Leftists have separated them from their parents, and succeeded in winning their hearts and minds.

As a generation (not everyone, but this is generally so), we failed to pass the torch to our children, failed to defend them from the evangelical secular left, failed to pass on our values.

That’s what “they” want you to do - get frustrated, give up, and ignore them...until they show up at your doorstep.

F*** ‘em. Fight on. Just staying IN the fight is a victory.

America had a mini-awakening in the 70's and 80's.

I agree with that and that we didn't pass on our faith with all diligence. However, I do believe that leaders diverted that awakening by shallow thinking. Rather than realize the strength was in the power of God, they began to teach that the strength was in the proper understanding of fiscal principles.

That is proven by so many who say our fight is over spending and job recovery, so we should set aside our other principles and concerns.

I would go so far as to say that our basic issue is not life, not marriage, and not self-protection.

The basic concern of Christian conservatives is faithfulness to our Lord and leading others to Him. Everything else seems to eventually fall into place if we get that piece correct.

Pictures and clues weren’t mentioned, but your opinion was. Mark Levin recently said that many of the Conservatives we voted for have turned their backs on us, with the except of a few he did mention. So we make note of the names of turncoats and vote them out. And find more Conservative candidates who show great promise and vote them in. And we keep doing it til we get real Conservative men and women to do the job.

So, let's get going, show up at the primaries and vote in Conservatives and keep the pressure on THEM to do what we voted them in to do....it will be a repetitive process until we get the kind of Conservative representation we want. And that's just the first step....
