At least 20 House Republican members have gotten together, discussed this and want to unseat Speaker Boehner--and are willing to do what it takes to do it, Meyer said. Thats more than enough to get the job done, but the one problem these guys face is they need a leader to coalesce behind.
Meyer said the conservatives have considered House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) to take the helm after Boehner is knocked out. His opposition from the right to the Senate fiscal cliff deal that Vice President Joe Biden cut with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is a sign Cantor may try for the job.
AMA is hardly the only conservative entity aware of the rekindled effort afoot to unseat Boehner. Another conservative with inside knowledge of the effort told Breitbart News that the movement has "new focus and juice," and if enough members go to Boehner telling him they wont support his re-election, that Americans should watch for him to resign gracefully.
The vote for Boehners re-election as Speaker happens on Thursday, two days after Boehners decision to support the Senate "fiscal cliff" deal Vice President Joe Biden cut with Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on New Years Eve.

Thanks. I believe that picture tells the rest of the story..
If the GOP hasn’t realized it, Obama plays brinksmanship on key fiscal issues so to put the opposition party under pressure to make a bad deal, just like the last debt ceiling debate and this recent fiscal cliff negotiation. You think anything will change next year under this current GOP leadership in the Senate and House?

“””I think Boehner is out.
I hope you are right, but I hope his replacement is not Cantor.
We need someone like Tom Price or Louie Gohmert.”””
We need a woman with balls like Bachmann. Nobody could be worse than the weepy boner.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Is it just me or is Boehner channeling Bob Dole? Increasingly, its hard to see the difference.
We could have amended the fiscal cliff deal to include tax cuts for ALL taxpayers but the Dems threatened “Oh no don't do that or we will kill it!”
If they did going over the cliff would have been THEIR damn fault—IN SPITE OF WHAT THE RINOs and their sniveling pundits say.
But Boner didn't even freekin’ try! He handed the freekin’ House over to freekin’ NANCY PELOSI FOR GAWDS SAKE!!!
“Another conservative with inside knowledge of the effort told Breitbart News that the movement has “new focus and juice,” and if enough members go to Boehner telling him they wont support his re-election, that Americans should watch for him to resign gracefully.
So, will he resign with his head in shame or will he be forced out?
I think he resigns.
He's one of the few conservatives that I still trust to act/be conservative.
I don't trust Cantor at all. I feel his fiscal cliff vote was just posturing and he was given the 'go ahead' by Boehner so he could look good.
Buh-Bye, Boner.
Everybody here is acting as if Boehner is the problem - but he’s merely representative of the problem. The reality is that the great majority of House members voted for the bill, and in fact would probably have voted for something even more outrageous and probably would even have been happy to go along with the Dems from the very start.
It’s true that he’s not a good negotiator and obviously not a very effective leader, but the real problem is that the great majority of the House was NOT putting pressure on him to do anything more and probably didn’t even want to go any further.
So it’s not just a matter of changing what is technically the leadership, but changing the mindset of the rest of the House. You’d think that after the 2010 elections, they would have smartened up, but they obviously regarded that as just a temporary aberration and don’t seriously expect that there will be any real challenges to business as usual.
“Several Republican House members rallied around Cantor’s opposition. Late Tuesday Darrell Issa (R-CA), the powerful Chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, said “I’m with Cantor.””
Earlier Issa was with Boehner
Great photo! Who owns the legs...and who’s that looking at them?
Cantor and McCarthy were both encouraging the caucus to vote FOR the bill, then they voted against it. No courage here..just pure political opportunism.
Okay, Boehner is definitely out.
I just checked out Issa’s vote.
Issa changed his vote to vote with Cantor.
Cantor will be the next speaker.
Pssst....how long has it been since we've heard anything about F&F? Seems to have just fallen "off the map".
