The right-wing Fox News host lost half his audience in the weeks after Obama's win
In a fitting coda to 2012, weve learned that the ratings for rock-ribbed conservative Sean Hannity cratered after Barack Obama won his second term, with viewers tuning out the Fox News Channel talk-show host in droves. According to Nielsen numbers, Hannity lost around half of his audience in the weeks after the election, while his Fox News colleague Bill OReilly who steadfastly refuses to identify himself politically as a conservative retained around 70% of his audience. So what happened to Hannity? The going wisdom is that viewers who basked in his preelection anti-Obama rhetoric tuned him out when they were stunned to wake up on Nov. 7 and discover that the President had won a second term a scenario that Hannity had all but promised could never happen.

Yep. I tend see Savage and Prager as kind of the “bad cop/good cop” of conservative talk radio. I love them both for different reasons. Although I haven’t listened to either of them or any other political talk show much lately, largely because I felt a need for a break from all of it. I’ll be back I’m sure.
I do think Savage does sarcasm very well. Here is one my favorite Savage monologues:

Laura is beginning to subtly blame the Tea Party’s influence for the Gop’s demise. Theirs are the most conservative views. You will hear more and more words like “evolve”, “rethink”, “soften” and “revitalize” from Conservative talk show hosts. It’s what they and the Republican Party must do in order to survive in any respect. It is a decision they have to make.
However, those who, like me have clung to Conservatism as an extension of their faith, must now separate the two. Barrack Obama has brought an end to our freedom of religious expression and practice thereof. From now on, you will be subject to punishment if you practice beliefs that aren’t compatible with government policy. And so we all have a choice to make too. Laura may choose not to discuss the obvious, much like the issues of birth control, but she can’t turn away from an altered platform and survive in her field any more than the Republicans can.
There is no longer a faction that is able to stand for the Christian’s ability to live according to their faith in this country. Before long, parts of The Word will be illegal to preach or speak right here in America; hate speech you know.
As for me; I am now unaffilliated until and unless The Almighty chooses to intervene and return sanity to this society.
Hannity plays the ratings games and suffers liberal idiots to gracefully, but has a good heart. Like his radio show better.
Oreilly is just an ass.
Hannity is not very bright. Years ago he had Al Sharpton on his show several times. He allowed Sharpton to get away with claiming that the 3/5ths of a person referred to whites considering blacks that percentage of a human being.
I Emailed Hannity and pointed out that the compromise was suggested by anti-slavery Democrats who had so many black former slaves that based on population, the South would have more representation in Congress than the North. Hannity blocked any further messages from me.
O’Reilly went out of his way to suck up to Obama until Obama’s policies were no longer able to be defended without revealing O’Reilly’s aversion to being thought of as being conservative. His arrogance is disgusting.
But either of them is superior to leftist trash like Chris Mathews or Rachel Maddow.
I quit watching fox as they started heading left and quit listening to talk radio as well.I cant help but feel something or someone is pulling their strings so I’m done.

Well, the fact that he was exposed as not knowing what the hell he’s talking about might have had something to do with it. His immediate roll over on immigration was then just another nail in the coffin.
Yep. We turned it off for our mental health and to quietly grieve the loss of the country we loved. Now we are resigned to our fate, and we just glance at the news just long enough to see if the stock market crashed yet.
Hannity a rock ribbed Conservative? Fox news right wing? I stopped reading right there. Hannity is a lightweight phony anymore. Fox seems right wing to the libtards because they actually have a couple of Conservatives while none of the other stations has a single one.
My thoughts as well. I have been saying for the past several years that Hannity could record one program and play it five days a week and nobody would notice.
I don’t know how anyone can listen to Savage for any length of time without feeling compelled to have a few drinks, turn on some Cowboy Junkies tunes for mood music, climb into a tub filled with warm water, grab a sharp razor and just end it all.
Hannity is an intellectual featherweight.
Funny. I used to listen to him to calm down on my way home from work. I had some very liberal bosses at the time so that may have been part of the reason for it.
For me, Savage’s appeal is his bluntness. Things are bad right now and we need someone to tell it like it us not like we want it to be.

The bluntness is not my problem with Savage. It’s the despair.
But he’s not the cause of the despair. He’s ultimately just pointing it out. We are in a very depressing time in our culture right now.
Yeah, he is just a real life Archie Bunker who has allowed the left to drive him mad and he feels great about it.
Despite me never really liking Sean Hannity, and finding him by far and away the laziest commentator on the radio, he is the rudest. He interrupts all his guests.
However, he came out for amnesty the day after the election, which pissed off a good portion of his audience.
I always suspected he is a phony anyways.
Happy New Year to you, Rita!
