The right-wing Fox News host lost half his audience in the weeks after Obama's win
In a fitting coda to 2012, weve learned that the ratings for rock-ribbed conservative Sean Hannity cratered after Barack Obama won his second term, with viewers tuning out the Fox News Channel talk-show host in droves. According to Nielsen numbers, Hannity lost around half of his audience in the weeks after the election, while his Fox News colleague Bill OReilly who steadfastly refuses to identify himself politically as a conservative retained around 70% of his audience. So what happened to Hannity? The going wisdom is that viewers who basked in his preelection anti-Obama rhetoric tuned him out when they were stunned to wake up on Nov. 7 and discover that the President had won a second term a scenario that Hannity had all but promised could never happen.

Hannity also told Al Sharpton that he is a great American.
I haven’t listened to him since and I don’t miss his whiny voice.
I never heard that. Say it ain't so, Joe!
I refuse to bash a prominent voice who is on our side. Sean Hannity is not perfect but he, by far, has done the most to give conservatives a voice on radio and TV. Levin is a genious and without match as a constitutional scholar. Limbaugh is the most intellectually astute scholar of conservatism and the destructiveness of liberalism in American society. Laura Ingraham is very smart, very witty and always has a logical conservative argument.
Sean studies hard and is well read and has a good memory. He isn’t Rush, Mark or Laura, but he is consistently on the right side on the most critical issues facing our country. He gives us a lot of good information and is very confrontational against the Left. Without him I think Benghazi would have died out quickly, the vetting of Obama would not have gotten the wide airing it got, Sarah Palin’s and Allen West’s voices would have been quite restricted. He did more than anybody to give the GOP Primary candidates ample time to communicate their message and give the conservatives, namely Tea Party leaders a chance to be heard.
Again, Sean is not perfect, but I just don’t understand all the attacks against him.
Agreed. Don’t watch any news shows really.
did like seeing Bob Woodward on his show.
Gretta’s ok if your up late.
Have better things to do than watch news on tv.
Never heard an original thought from the guy.
Never heard an original thought from the guy.
I stopped listening to talk, including Hannity, Rush, Ingraham, Etc after the election. All the endless whining, the childish optimism, and nothing good ever seems to come from it. When I think of Hannity, I think of Joe The Plumber, Dick Morris, and all the other useless crap that hasnt ever won an election, and never will. Frankly, it was easily the most depressing election in my lifetime. I don’t know that a conservative will ever again be elected, and I’m just working on putting away enough resources to make my family truly globally mobile as this country slides into the ditch.
A lot of conservatives, including myself, simply stopped watching the news after the election. E
xcept for financial news, I’m still not watching.
My dad has said the exact same thing.

Was trying to think what to say to all the bashers on this post...you said it first. Thanks.
I agree with most of that that but inexplicably he occasionally come up with some cogent points in debates.
That’s just Hannity’s trademark politeness.
I’ll bet he made a total fool of him first.
Hear, hear!
We have to stop eating our own. I think Sean’s ratings are down because we are all on a depressed hangover since the election. I know I turn it all off a lot lately.
It wasn't politeness it actually came off kind of faggoty.
No he didn't make a fool of him at all. In fact he let him blather his left wing racist garbage for quite a while from his bully pulpit.
I will never listen to him again.
“Laura Ingram lost me when she said the Republicans would have to soften their stance on abortion”
I don’t believe this. Laura I. is a champion for Right to Life causes. I went to hear her speak at a R to L. event in Milwaukee.
She is a devout Catholic too. I don’t believe that she would suggest that the GOP soften their stance on abortion.
She was a fierce critic of the Romney campaign and at times, it seemed like they were listening.
Are you his PR man? He has more liberals on his show than conservatives and he gives them a hell of a platform from which to spew their hate and racism.
Hannity isn't perfect just like Romney wasn't perfect. To make this clear both of them are FAR, FAR from perfect and certainly are not conservative.
Finally, back when a coworker named "Flipper" I believe was engaged he asked questions and made innuendos about her and her fiance's sex life that sounded like something straight out of Hustler magazine. Gave me the creeps.
Ditto.
