Of all the gushing, fawning, sycophantic things uttered by Obama-loving media members in 2012, David Gregory's fiscal cliff question posed to the President on Sunday's Meet the Press has to be on the list of the year's top ten.
"Is this your Lincoln moment?" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
No, David, that was your brown-nose moment — one of your many.
Let the tabular statement of Vanderslice demonstrate the cost of that fighting:
Location |
Confederate casualties |
Federal casualties |
Wheat-Field |
2,822 |
4,133 |
Emmittsburg Road |
1,978 |
2,645 |
Peach Orchard |
1,047 |
1,285 |
Round Top |
826 |
575 |
Total |
6,673 |
8,638 |
These casualties, it should be noted, include the missing, but it is probable that 5,500 Southerners were killed and wounded in this fight, and perhaps 7,800 Northerners. It was certainly one of the most terrible conflicts of the war. Not even at Antietam, in the battle that raged around the Cornfield and the Dunker Church on the morning of September 17th 1862, had blood been shed more copiously.
Lincoln? Ha! Actually, I think 0bama's ammoing up for a few more zeroes. Let's call it for the 'sake' of 'global warming,' gun 'control,' and a push 'for the children.'
Benghazi was FREE.
David Gregory keeps proving that he’s an idiot’s idiot!
However, as for the rest, there are implications that go well beyond the superficial, softball question. To quell the uprising in the South, Lincoln turned the Constitution into confetti that was later dumped on him after the South was forced to capitulate. The Founding Fathers had ALWAYS considered secession as part of the balance of power, even tough it wasn’t memorialized in the Constitution. It WAS memorialized in the Federalist Papers!
Obama has already turned the Constitution into confetti and his just awaiting his “hero” moment. When the revolt occurs, I believe it will end differently than it did in 1865. Too many things have changed and, zero being the arrogant, narcissistic, dictator that he is, believes that he IS the reincarnation of Lincoln and every great president we have had.
The fiscal cliff is coming in one form or another. zero and the Dems want this country in poverty and disarray. When we go over the cliff and most Americans see an additional $3500 per year of their disposable income being taken away by the government, along with the new tidal wave of layoffs, we are facing a very, very bad future.
So, the question must be asked: “where is the passion for freedom, liberty, exceptionalism and individualism? When we do say “I’m mad as h%ll and I’m not gonna take it anymore!” When is enough enough?” I see a lot of talk, here, but no action to back it up.
That was Spielberg's intent in the movie "Lincoln". It was a subliminal analogue for Obama's vanquishing of the ideological Neanderthals who oppose his courageous imposition of socialism/emancipation. The fact that Lincoln was a Republican merely served to make the director's motivation less obvious, giving it some cover.
Today it is greater.. today the issues affect everyone's everyday life coast to coast and border to border.. 24/7. We are told what and how to do it and what to use right down to the toilet paper.
The issues are
.. and what makes it even more galling.. here are the ones doing it to us
Is this your Lincoln moment, because it’s definitely my Deep Throat moment. Love, David.
Was he looking up from his knees when he asked?
Mary Lincoln moment.
