It seems to me that the reduced size of the Republican caucus has given the extreme tea party members more weight at this juncture. Boehner needs 218 votes to become the speaker in the 114th congress, and with a smaller number of pubs he can’t write very many off. This is one benefit to the last election.

We have a so called president who has not proven himself under article II of the Constitution. We do not have to obey a thing he has signed.Indeed it is our duty NOT to obey anything Obama has signed.
Methinks the Constitution says that all revenue legislation MUST ORIGINATE IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. Any "Senate measure" to do so is flatly un-Constitutional. But I wouldn't expect any Democrat to know what the Constitution says, much less legislate accordingly.

Two things: 1 - Van Hollen is a liberal big government high tax socialist so he’s just falling in line with the rest of them; and, 2 - he could easily beller about Harry Reid who hasn’t passed a budget in 1300 days and won’t bring legislation to the Senate floor proving that HE is the self-appointed czar.
