That's 3 years, 7 months and 28 days that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (Democrat) has obstructed and prevented the House of Representatives efforts to submit a budget as required by Federal Law.
That's right folks, Harry Reid (D) is breaking a law that the Senate has passed.
Does he really lead or does he just have his own personal agenda to break the system.
Remember what Obama said. We are ..Days Away From Fundamentally Transforming The United States of America
Yep, today Reid’s on the Senate floor complaining about the House not being in session during this crisis yet he wont bring a single cliff bill to the Senate floor for a vote.
So he is just wasting time and taxpayer money for nothing.
No O got the House members to fly back for nothing.
Cant Boner get two or three members on the House floor on camera just to make a show?
The GOP needs to speak very plainly now so that even the low information voters can understand.
The DemocRATS are doing nothing to help them.
The GOP if allowed will let the economy grow jobs, jobs, jobs!
Agreed.
Speak up now GOP.
What do you have to lose?
Well that might work as long as the economy gets worse and they don't get the blame for blowing up the economy out of spite. If Republicans were trusted on jobs and economy now then Romney would have won.
I see Rush decided to use that term ‘low-information voters’ lately.
Speaking of Rush and low-information voters I seem to remember Rush telling his listeners that the polls showing Romney losing were all rigged and they shouldn't believe them. He was telling this to his loyal listeners the 'high information voters' who must of went into complete shock when Romney lost. , Ironic
Rush is the last person I would go to for advise on how to beat Dems.
Rush: Everything But Polls Say Romney Landslide (Newsmax 05, Nov 2012 )
DON'T DOUBT ME!
LOL
The low information voters was my own. I can’t get Rush’s show during the day. Only the weekend recap on Saturday if I have time.
Well he is using that term frequently since the election, to him they are the voters who did not behave in a way to make his analysis and predictions come true, pretty ridiculous.
Everything -- Except the Polls -- Points to a Romney Landslide( November 05, 2012, Rushlimbaugh, com)
This thread is about do nothing Democrats ruining the country. Not Rush.
You are certainly right that Rs need to improve their communications, but they also need to accept reality if they want any chance of winning.
Making believe that Romney was winning didn't make it happen. Making believe that voters are backing Republicans now is just as delusional.
Right now Republicans are trusted on almost nothing over Obama. Two years of these confrontations where Republicans had no idea how to win them, then had public opinion turn against them, then suffered the public humiliation of accepting really bad deals for each fight was a total disaster. And they seemed to have learned little from it.
Here's a example of planning: exactly 2 years ago 2010 Obama got the Pelosi lame duck House pass an extension of all the Bush tax cuts for exactly 2 years.
Was this a big victory by the Senate minority Republicans who held up the tax cut extension unless all the incomes (all Bush tax cuts) were included?
No, it was the best thing for Obama, it gave him an issue for two years and Republicans get nothing now but this time bomb which is destroying them. Plus O got the FICA payroll tax cut in that same deal for a year , and then he crushed Rs a year later exactly one year ago on its extension.
How about Obama coming out with the O-care birth control mandate in a press release in the middle of his POTUS re-election race? This was a nice sweet smelling trap bait for all the mice who lined up to jump into it, and they did.
Obama plays Republicans like an instrument. He is always steps ahead of them and everything he says is poll tested. No strategy will succeed that denies why they are losing.
Good points. The GOP must learn how to drive the discussion.
They could be in the drivers seat now had they been quick enough and used the language that the average voter can understand.
I cant disagree with that, obviously they have been massacred on the communication war.
They need to have an organized realistic strategy on how to beat Obama and that includes generating consistent popularized talking points that all their house/Senate members must be briefed on.
They need to be more populist (in talking points) .
They need to be organized and united as a team
They need to accept reality.
Reality is that voters will not now accept spending cuts to themselves or anyone they like without taxes going up on those making much more than them in return as 'fairness'.
Reality is that taxes are going up on everyone if nothing is done.
Reality is that if you want voters to believe that it is bad for them to have tax increases on those making much more than them, then you have to show them that it is true with a current example, Obama. There is nothing that can be said now that will do that, it there was then Romney would have won.
Do it the same way that O (was forced to) extended cuts on ‘the rich’ for two years then made an major issue of it for those years to beat Republicans and a big trap for them now. Show them that they are bad.
Learn from success not failure.
harry hasn’t stopped the house from passing a budget. what’s their excuse
The House has passed budgets every year.
Harry Reid has blocked the bills in the Senate every year.
Communists don’t need a budget, Silly! All your money = theirs. It’s that simple. Why bother with messy budgets and stuff. C’mon! Get real!
Even better question, when will Republicans actually demand one? Republicans have controlled the House for two years now, yet each of those years, they passed a continuing resolution of the 2009 Pelosi-Reid budget instead of demanding that a new budget be passed. Cowards.
yes. sorry. they should stop negotiating with themselves
BUMP a great thread title.
I have to laugh - - thanks to the House conservatives, Boehner wasn’t allowed to cave. And so now the rats are squealing like pigs, which clearly demonstrates that the Republicans did the right thing! How ironic is it that Boehner ended up (accidentally!) doing the right thing when he threw up his hands and told the House to go home and have a Merry Christmas?
LMBO...
Why am I only reading of this in a relatively obscure Web posting on a moderately-read blog, rather than hearing it blasted DAILY from the lips of the likes of John Boehner, David Cantor, and Rep Ryan?
Something does not add up about the putative ‘Congressional Republicans.
