The good news is that if we ever do get that assault rifle ban, followed by a handgun ban, followed by a ban of anything that can shoot bullets, the Banners will still have a banner year of banning all the other ways with which people kill other people.
Violent crimes havent gone away with the UKs gun control. Theyve actually gone up.
Britons suffer 1,158,957 violent crimes per year, which works out at 2,034 per 100,000 residents. The U.S., meanwhile, has a rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, which is lower than Frances, at 504
Instead of gun crime, the UK worries about knife crime. And has been practicing knife control.

I couldn’t stab anyone with the one kitchen “knife” that I use. But I could dismember someone with one swing of my razor sharp Japanese cleaver! Great utensil! Use it for everything.

Cricket bats, undoubtedly.
Now criminals are going to have to sharpen their forks.

Unfortunately, women in England don’t get manicures. I’ve never found a salon in that country no matter how hard I tried.

And what ALWAYS precedes someone being stabbed with a long knife? A bad thought. We need to ban bad thoughts.

We can’t ban human nature. If not guns, then knives. Then baseball or cricket bats. Then maybe rocks.
Violence is in the heart, not the hand. *sigh*

For croquet, you could always opt for flamingos, but then the British SPCA would get involved.

My grandmother (Dad’s side) used a long-bladed kitchen knife to chop veggies. I didn’t get stabbed even once. :-)
