Where is the exception in the law for this?

The police cannot decide who can obey the law and who cannot!

This is asinine! (AND ILLEGAL!)

ATF is a federal arm of the government.

The law Gregory broke was a D.C. Law.

Ignorance is no excuse.

The illegal law is one of many put forth by libby states that infringes on our unalienable rights, and should be ignored discreetly in such non permissive areas and should be challenged overtly in public forums.

Yeah, TMZ is reliable/ sarc. Lets see it in writing, signed off by the ATF.

I’ve always said, a verbal agreement is only as good as the paper it’s printed on. And signed.

ATF is the organization that broke the law, smuggled guns to Mexico drug cartels.

Ofcourse, they would tell a leftist it’s okay for him to violate the DC law.

The law only applies to people outside the party. We are Chi-coms now.

I agree - why would DCPD even call the ATF?

“who has the authority to give permission to break a law”

I would think nobody does...

‘So who at the ATF told David Gregory he could violate Washington DC gun control laws?

Name. We need a name. Who gave permission to break the law without consequence? Who’s going to lose his/her job because of this?
(Does that mean if I say I was given permission to rob a bank I’m off the hook?)

This sounds to me like a “You keep covering my back and I’ll cover yours” from someone in the democrat party. ‘

Only an investigative Committee from the House of Representatives can get to the bottom of this possibly illegal and terrorist affront to the peace loving American People. OMG, children could have seen this on TV.
This is an opportunity for Mr. Boehner to keep his Speaker position.

We are $17,000,000,000,000 in debt, we murder hundreds of thousands of children in the womb or alive in the birth canal every year, we have $100,000,000,000,000 in Entitlement liabilities, we are led by a homosexual Coummunist, we have thrown God out of our schools, workplaces, homes, and Government, our economy is in an actual depression, and the media is in an absolute frenzy about a piece of sheet metal with a spring inside of it.

* NBC’s request to display gun magazine denied by police

By Chris Francescani

Dec 26 (Reuters) - NBC News anchor David Gregory is being investigated by police after displaying what he said was a high-capacity gun clip on Sunday’s broadcast of “Meet the Press,” Washington’s Metropolitan Police Department said Wednesday.

Gregory held up what appeared to be a 30-round gun magazine - which would be barred under Washington municipal code - while hosting the nationally broadcast interview with National Rifle Association Chief Executive Officer Wayne LaPierre.

“Here is a magazine for ammunition that carries 30 bullets,” Gregory said as he held aloft the black cartridge, according to video posted on the network’s website.

“Now isn’t it possible that, if we got rid of these, if we replaced them and said ‘Well, you could only have a magazine that carries five bullets or ten bullets,’ isn’t it just possible that we can reduce the carnage in a situation like Newtown?” Gregory asked LaPierre.

“I don’t think it’s what will work,’’ LaPierre responded.

The network had contacted the police department prior to Sunday’s broadcast “inquiring if they could use a high capacity magazine for the segment,” police spokesman Araz Alali said on Wednesday.

“NBC was informed that possession of a high-capacity magazine was not permissible and their request was denied.”

Alali, the police spokesman, declined to elaborate on the investigation into NBC.

Washington’s municipal code prohibits possession, sale or transfer of “any large capacity ammunition feeding device, regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm.”

The maximum penalty for conviction on such a charge is a $1,000 fine and one year in prison.

NBC spokeswoman Erika Masonhall, contacted by email, said the network had no comment on the investigation.

Since Sandy Berger destroyed federally protected records, if not before, the ‘green light’ is on for corruption and violation of any law when the DNC wants it. Any law and destruction of any federal record

As Mark Levin loves to say we are now in a "POST CONSTITIONAL" period. It is clear to anyone that is breathing that the United States of America is NO LONGER a nation of laws.

"I’m not a lawyer or anything, but anyone with a passing familiarity of American law should realize this."

Same here!

Does the network Meet the Press is on have an in house legal team?

Does this reporter have his own personal legal representation?

I'm guessing yes to both questions.

Were their legal beagles consulted?

And, if so, were they contacted before or after the Meet the Press screw up?

"This story is absurd. The DCPD doesn’t need permission from the ATF to enforce or not enforce local DC laws and the ATF doesn’t have the authority to tell the DCPD how or whether to enforce local DC laws. This is nothing more than a cooked up excuse to let everyone, Gregory (punk) and the DCPD, off the hook."

Seems pretty clear, doesn't it, TigersEye!

"“I don’t think it’s what will work,’’ LaPierre responded."

LaPierre had to be thinking about D.G. - what an idiot..he is breaking the law as we speak!

Especially if LaPierre is schooled on DC law on guns, etc. (I'm going to say 'yes') he was maybe thinking 'what a dork!'.

LaPierre needs to start airing commercials of Gregory’s actions, showing how, “Effective,” gun laws are.

Now.
