A Wall Street Journal report detailing the broken-down status of talks between President Barack Obama and House Speaker John Boehner on the year-end fiscal cliff reveals that Obama threatened to use both his inaugural and State of the Union speeches to blame Republicans if theres no deal.
Negotiations reportedly came to a standstill after Boehner proposed increasing the tax rate on top earners:
Mr. Obama repeatedly lost patience with the speaker as negotiations faltered. In an Oval Office meeting last week, he told Mr. Boehner that if the sides didnt reach agreement, he would use his inaugural address and his State of the Union speech to tell the country the Republicans were at fault.
At one point, according to notes taken by a participant, Mr. Boehner told the president, I put $800 billion [in tax revenue] on the table. What do I get for that?
You get nothing, the president said. I get that for free.

That wwould take guts...Boehner has none.
But Speaker Bachmann does.
"What do you get for those tax increases? HA-HA-HA- You get nothing. You get NO spending cuts except maybe those automatic Defense cuts if I am generous. In fact you will restore that spending I let you cut to social programs last year. And get on the House floor and kiss a picture of my a.. I own you now suckers" |

Holy crap, How did he get in here?
I swear if I were speaker I'd have said "You appear to prefer using this situation as an opportunity to demonize my side over getting a deal. So far you seem to think you have all the cards. Well here's one I have. If we go over the cliff then on Jan 1 we shut the government down except social security, law enforcement, and defense. And it doesn't come back until we have a balanced budget. And I do mean balanced. No more borrowing. There will be no more continuing resolutions, and baseline budgeting is dead. Demonize all you want, I'm done with your BS."
Back in 2009 and 2010 I was lone voice here warning to get rid of Boehner before he became Speaker,’
But NOW ~2013 no one in the R House, not even your favorite hero congressman, wants that job to be O’s bitch for two years then lose the House to Pelosi.
I know its great fun to play imagine,’
Get on the phone and call your favorite House member to run as Speaker and tell us what he said,
Know what else you get for free Barry - title of being the worst POTUS evah!

Not yet ,, but he’s catching up with FDR..
The following quote by Ayn Rand cannot be emphasized enough:
In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit.
The $6 trillion under Obama will certainly never be paid back since there is no outside entity to pay it to. The $6 trillion windfall for the government resulted from increasing the money supply, and no government will ever conduct a counter-active decrease the money supply by destroying money that it holds. So the resulting inflation is here to say, which in effect becomes the biggest, most regressive tax increase since the Carter Administration. Our purchasing power for groceries has declined by one-third over the past four years. That's the dirty tax increase that no one talks about. Government has stolen from us our ability to purchase groceries, and they have done so by printing up $6 trillion in new money, part of which went towards food stamp handouts for the purpose of buying votes. So that one-third of groceries that you can no longer afford is now given to people who don't work. It is a gargantuan wealth redistribution ploy that our Republican Representatives have actually aided and abetted.
People are worried about Obama instituting reparations for slavery? Suckers! He's already doing so now. And if our GOP House votes to raise the debt ceiling even more, these reparations will only grow bigger.
Obama has learned that a printing press can pay for the cost of government for at least four years. I don't believe he really cares how much revenue he raised from a tax increase on our best wealth producers. The Fed has been able to 'create' $6 trillion in wealth during his first term. Individual wealth earners are an afterthought.
If Republicans had any balls, they would refuse to raise the debt ceiling again. That is IF they had any balls.
