US Navy SEAL commander dies in Afghanistan
AAP December 24, 2012 8:51AM
A SAILOR identified by US media as the commanding officer of US Navy SEAL Team 4 has died in Afghanistan, military officials say.
The Pentagon said Commander Job Price, 42, did not die in combat, and that his death was under investigation.
Price, of Pottstown, Pennsylvania, died on Saturday of a "non-combat related injury while supporting stability operations in (central) Uruzgan province, Afghanistan," a Defence Department statement said.
It said Price was assigned to a Naval Special Warfare unit in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
NBC News reported that Price commanded SEAL Team 4, one of eight SEAL team deployments.

“Sounds like you have bought in to the official story.”
Well, yes, I have no info otherwise.
If it isn’t true, I am sorry, but how can I know?
If he was murdered I certainly hope it comes to light.
Imagine that....
ping
A longer list than the Clinton List...Thanks for the compilation and the posting.
I just don’t believe this story. Here we have a Navy Seal who would more than likely fight to the death with any enemy of the United States and we’re too believe he committed suicide.
Somethings fishy here.
CNO, Admiral Boorda committed suicide too.
Thank You for the ping Piasa...... Prayers up for this Man, his family, friends and fellow warriors.
IMHO, simple suicide does not pass the smell test...particularly the way this info is coming out. I believe there’s probably a whole lot more to this than what has been said.
Matt? Any thoughts?
I’m with you jeff, something hinky about this.
Christmas is hard on troops but something else
drove this man to it, or else it was some kind of
set up. We may never know.
..like the helicopter full of SEALs that went down in Afghanistan a few weeks after the OBL raid. What did THEY know? And WTF are SEALs doing training Afghan policemen? WTF WTF?!!
None.
Officers and senior enlisted in the US military live in a zero defects environment. There is no place where the pressure ever lets up. Whether home, training, war or wherever, their decisions and behavior are always either officially (and unofficially) brought under scrutiny.
My point is that you don’t get to be a commander (0-5) without having dealt with an awful lot of pressure. Why suddenly now does this guy take his own life?
I’d wait for an investigation before categorizing this one.
The Guardian (UK) News is calling it an “apparent suicide.” I don’t believe that!

I read he could of retired this year. If you’re distraught with your job why off yourself if you can go fishing instead?
BS
SEALs don’t kill themselves.
Well there you go, facts are facts. Except when they are not.
Yep we will know exactly what happened after the investigation. </Earl Warren>
Will we also find out that he was being treated for “depression” and on SSRI anti-depressants which just happen to have suicide as a side effect? Takin bets on it.
The regime should never have killed obls double. Our Seals will be paying the price for along time.Shoddy way to win an elecction.
