what about the children?!?

Children aren't a good substitute for milk in most cooking and baking.

Very good, Johnny, very good. (I do have a sense of humor, it should be noted.)

Phobias, including lactophobia, expressed here, can be cured.

Well then that can be eliminated easily and the government can remove itself from the milk business. The dairy farmers will have to produce more milk or we will have to stop drinking as much if we are displeased with the price. It’s one or the other.

It's a wonderful day that the Lord has made. I hope you are rejoicing and being glad in it. ;)

Well, what with the heels and all, I can understand the confusion. But the muscle tone, dude. The muscle tone.

I have some imaginary milk cows. I want $50,000 just like Obama gave those people for having imaginary pigs.

Worst drought in 100 years.

Yep, shortage of hay and feed grain.

Producers are in the squeeze.

Milk is currently 3.99 per gal. locally now. They put it on sale 1 time per month about $2.50 per gal.

My family sold all the beef cattle 2 years ago. Have not rebought because of the uncertainty of winter grazing and hay. If you own them you have to feed them regardless.

We have always had a small cow/calf operation. I suspect we will rebuy when there is a sign the drought is over. Not before regardless of price.

Big Lots is selling ultra-pasturized shelf-stable boxed milk for a dollar per. They’re marked to be good for 6-8 months.

When we get rid of government price subsidies for milk, couldn’t the price be reduced by eliminating subsidies for the cows, too?
And eliminating the ethanol mandate that is driving up the cost of corn / feed.

Today, 12/22/2012, at a town in Louisiana, you pass through on your way to Shreveport, or to Baton Rouge, at the local WalMart (not all the counters were open), a gallon of whole milk cost $4.23.

Gotta be careful with BL, might have a 6-8 month shelf life but how long have they already been sitting on a shelf?
