A good analogy could be the government creating another buyback program in which fishermen would trade in their rods and reels (no questions asked!) for some fish-sticks or a fillet-of-fish sandwich.
The road to serfdom is nearing completion.
They were giving out cash here...then they found out they were using the money to buy better guns.
Got a bridge.....
Don’t ask don’t tell works for these libs...how many of these will be ballistics checked for unsolved shootings???
Brilliant! Reward criminals.
You know Barry’s “transformation” is kicking in when people have to turn in their gun for something to eat. I guess that “Give a man a fish...” thing wouldn’t work here either.
If there are any freepers in the area they should go down there and offer cash to the idiots standing in line. You could probably pick up a working shotgun for $60 or a pistol for $110. They would make good stocking stuffers.
Disarming the Nations poor one gun at a time!
Fifty dollars for say a mint condition 1894 Winchester 30-30? I think not. Now I’ve this rusted piece of junk I’ll let go for $50.
Granted some of these weapons may be stolen and may be in the hands of people who use them for bad reasons. That said, the people who are turning them in because they need the money should get lots of canned food. Perhaps if their aim is really, really good, they can use the canned items to defend themselves if they need to.
As the Instapundit repeats often, "first you make them beggars, 'cause they're easier to please."
***Since the program began four years ago, a total of 851 firearms have been impounded, officials said. ****
Just think, this is from the state where the CITIZENS voted NOT TO BAN HANDGUNS back in 1982.
Kali has been trying to get around that vote since.
They did it in Boston a few years back.
$200.00 Target gift cards for a gun.
Guess what? It’s even worse now.
Idiocy rules the day!
.
I learn something new all the time. I never knew African Americans were such avid deer hunters until I saw all the rifles that are turned in at these gun buy backs.
I got some data from 2010, which showed that every day in the USA (except Sundays), there are about 20,000 guns manufactured. So, one can readily see that these 851 firearms are not reducing the supply much, now are they?
Good luck keeping those groceries, or anything else another wants, now that you’ve given up your means to defend them... including your lives, if such your attacker wishes.
