Newt Gingrich said that conservatives will have to accept marriage equality after three more states this year voted to allow same sex marriage and more will likely do the same in the 2014 election.
The former Speaker of the House said he didn

I find it amazing how after the election all these so called “republicans” and “conservatives” true colors comes out....
GOD SAID, Romans 1:21-32:
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
They will sell their souls for a freaking vote!!!!
Why were people banned for telling the truth about this left wing, anti-Christian commie? This Pelosi puppet was used to swing the primary to Romney.
If one doesn’t believe what Gingrich is saying, they have their head in the sand. If they want to blame someone, they can blame Hollywood not Gingrich. He is simply stating facts, it is here to stay and is not going to go away.
Gingrich subscribes to a new-age religion called Tofflerism, thay makes no secret it wants to get rid of Christianity.
agreed, my family will all move even though we are rooted here.
I;msick of this crap by people like Newt, backstabbing us, lying to us and then appeasing the left.
The only reason the left has done so much of their rules is because of the cowards on our side who think if we agree with them on this then they and the media will like us.

when you think how much of their agenda they have passed then one has to take it seriously of thinking about a state or two leaving and going it alone.
Real conservatives dont and wont accept it.
Fake conservatives like Newton do accept it.

Bingo!
Basically, conservatoire should just, right? Like you and Gingrich and Pelosi tell us to. Like Reagan should have in 1964, right?
Santorum was my guy, as well. A decent man, a true conservative, which is why the GOP establishment wanted him gone.
I never trusted Gingrich, although I much admire his glibness.
Oh no, Nick. Rick undermined his own campaign by making several injudicious statements when “winging it” in speeches and interviews. Had Rick not screwed up, and he did a magnificent job on his shoestring budget, he’d have been our nominee. And, who knows? At least he wasn’t fearful of attacking Ovomit. To me, Romney was a very pleasant surprise, but he had hired absolute dolts as advisers who doomed his campaign. Bob
Those folks are just the the latest batch of enablers who keep Newt from fading away into well-deserved obscurity.
(Well, them and the media pot-stirrers who continue to give the guy a microphone.)
Mr. niteowl77
“And both times it was soundly defeated.”
Prop. 22 passed by 61.5% in 2000. Prop. 8 passed by 52% in 2008. If the guys in black robes deem to uphold prop.8, I bet they will simply try to repeal it with another popular vote. For their purposes all they need is 51%.
Newt is wrong about accepting or not politically fighting state recognition of ‘gay marriage.’ As a Catholic he should realize that the ‘gay marriage’ fight isn’t really about benefits that come from the state. He should realize its about using the state to punish those who aren’t going to buy into whatever impossible definition of marriage the state is using at the time. Gee Newt, what’s the biggest single target that is never going to accept things like ‘gay marriage?’
I don’t know if it is inevitable or not, but it doesn’t look too good, in my opinion. Think about this—Hawaii passed its amendment early on in the process, in ‘98 by 69%. NC passed one this year by 61%, matching Ca’s effort in 2000. Many hailed it as great victory. But if you would have told someone in 1990 that 40% of the NC voting public would think ‘gay marriage’ was possible and good, they would have thought you were wacked.
Freegards
I don’t have to and nobody can make me.
No idea what your point is. I do not agree with gay marriage. I was simply pointing out the fact that Gingrich is expressing the sentiment in this country regarding gay marriage. Many on this thread make it sound like he Newt invented homosexuality. He is smart enough to know the battles that can be fought and won, ths isn’t it.
LOL!
Santorum was the most important one to warn people about.
This has nothing to do with Santorum. This has to do with megacommunist Gingrich getting the support of conservatives.
Well, to be fair I've touched a newt and they're more sticky than slimy.
Not accepting reality is called "denial."
Unbelievable, at this late date, that FR has any troglodyte so ignorant and so blindly hateful as to repeat this Leftwing lie here.
You don't belong here child.
