"More than 100 riders from New York and Massachusetts, organized by the anti-Westboro group Patriot Guard Riders, were also in Connecticut on Wednesday to show their support, Patch reported. The lined the streets arm in arm."
All these guys see us and think were bad. Were not. Its solidarity, is what it is, New York native Jim Hannigan told Newtown Patch. I just felt I had to be here.
“right-wing Christian group”
F you!
” The vocal right-wing Christian group,...”
***
Nothing right-wing or Christian about the Westies.
>> “More than 100 riders from New York and Massachusetts, organized by the anti-Westboro group Patriot Guard Riders, were also in Connecticut on Wednesday to show their support.”
Therein you likely have the only right-wing Christian group in this story.
SnakeDoc
Westboro is neither Christian nor Right wing.
They are Opportunist Shysters.
They inflame sensitive issues, try to get some one to take a poke at them and sue on 1st amendment grounds while hiding behind the guise of being a church.
Thing is, that group makes its money by suing municipalities for not providing them adequate protection from exercising their 1st. Amendment rights.
It’s interesting...FReepers have offered many explanations for why this massacre occurred, what mistakes our society has made that permitted this to happen, what bad decisions brought about such dire consequences.
But let someone suggest that sin is the root of the problem and even Christians trip over one another in their rush to disown such an idea.
Patriot Guard ping
I signed the petition and posted it to my twitter and facebook. They need lots of signatures to reach their goal!
A WhiteHouse.gov petition to “legally recognize WBC as a hate group?”
What does legal recognition of a hate group entail?
Does a legally recognized hate group lose rights that non-hate groups retain?
These people ARE NOT affiliated with Conservatives in any way, shape, or form. They are vile, evil, hatefilled cretins who belong more to groups that worship Satan.
THEY ARE NOT RIGHT WING!!!
We in the ALR salute you and will stand with you ANYTIME
Right Wing Group?
BULL DROPPINGS!!!!!
LEFT WING GROUP posing as Christians..
Regardless of our feelings right wingers and Christians have RESPECT for those who have died and their survivors.
Dem Mudder Friking Bustards have my respect.
—— on the other hand, I bet if I sat down with them and had a beer or two, we would probably get along quite well - despite their rough exterior(s).
I applaud the bikers for their actions but the article is dishonest. The Westboro Baptist Church is not a "right-wing Christian Group". It was founded by and is headed by Fred Phelps. It is just Phelps and a few members of his family.
Phelps is a long time leftist trial lawyer and member of the Democrat Party. He sued individuals and companies for discrimination and got Democrat bureaucrats to help him. He ran for office as a Democrat. He is a committed leftist. He is not a Christian. His small group of family members is not a church. It is an organization that tries to disrupt funerals of deceased servicemen and provoke family members at their time of grief to create a possible lawsuit.
It claims to be anti-gay. That is a lie. Phelp’s small group NEVER attacks gay events or gay rights organizations. They only go after Christians with deceased family members at their funerals. They provoke and file lawsuits. They claim their right of freedom of speech and freedom of religion allows them to disrupt funerals and provoke grieving family members. The ACLU and other leftist groups strongly support Phelps and have filed lawsuits on his behalf.

One of their lawsuits went to the Supreme Court.
SPJNK.
Hooligan ping.
Yep, my wife heard “The Good Guys” roaring through Woodbury yesterday!
I am furious. I consider myself right wing, and there isn’t one speck of similarities between Westboro, myself or any other right wing person or organization I know. This a$$hole should be made to retract his comment. In fact, I would like to sue him.
