Members of the Senate and House foreign affairs committees grilled Deputy Secretary of State William Burns and Deputy Secretary of State Thomas Nides in Congressional hearings Thursday morning. Each lawmaker had their own individual concerns about the State Departments inadequate security, failure to heed warnings, slow response time, misrepresentations to the public, and all around grossly inadequate systematic failures leading up to, and following the events that occurred in Benghazi, Libya on Sept. 11. Floridas Senator Marco Rubio was concerned with one revelation in the State Departments report in particular and he steered his questions accordingly. He said of the Accountability Review Boards report: It puts a lot of blame on lower level officials, particularly assistant secretary officials. And why I find that quite puzzling is that Benghazi, and Libya in general, is not some remote outpost. Its not Luxembourg. I mean this is a country we were involved in militarily not so long ago in a high profile intervention. Rubio read from the transcript of the report on page 5, The special mission was not a priority for Washington when it came to security related requests, especially those related to staffing. I want to understand who Washington is, Rubio said.

ROFLMAO!!!!!! You have made my day.
Hills can’t be forced to resign. She has already laid the groundwork to quit.
At least we know it won’t be to spend more time with her family. LOL!
Indeed! That is why they are printing money like it is going out of style(which it will!) and we will have uber inflation and can then can pay off the debt with inflated dollars. It is the only way it can work. If we still have a country when we come out the other end I will be surprised.
I think so. And if Woodward and Bernstein were around (or the President had an (R) after his name) the press would be pushing them. But the most important thing right now is to clearly identify that the report is a whitewash. Rubio took a huge step in that direction, and he didn't even have to publicly abuse Hillary to do it. Once it's a given that the report is crap, then Obama can't wave it and say the investigation is over. Then you ask him about what he did/didn't to.
That is their plan, but it will lead to World War. They are basically telling a world that trusted it with the worlds defacto reserve currency, that they intend to steal assets from them and crash the entire worlds economy in the process.
I hope the investigation is not over.
Hillary didn’t have anything to do with it. Didn’t you even read the language in the new ‘report’? It was a ‘special mission’. There hasn’t been a ‘consolate’ in Benghazi since the country fell to al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. There was NOTHING there except the ‘special mission’ run by the CIA, which was running guns to terrorists. Hillary Clinton has no authority whatsoever over a CIA ‘special mission’. Any prior requests for security were for the Embassy in Tripoli because the whole country is going unstable. Those cables had nothing to do with Benghazi. Why do you think they have Petraeus over the barrel for a one-night stand with his biographer? Petraeus said NOBODY from his department denied security requests. In fact, if it hadn’t been for Tyrone Wood and Glen Doherty breaking rank and rescuing the ‘staff’ at the ‘special mission’ house, all 37 of them would be dead! Christopher Stevens wasn’t acting as the Ambassador in Benghazi, he was their gun running guru! Petraeus also told the truth when he said it was an al Qaeda attack. All of this business about he said, she said, and the new ‘report’ is totally bogus double-speak. The White House is totally responsible for this, and requiring Hillary to fall on the sword for it, with the promise that she won’t suffer the consequences for it. But even Hillary’s $million lawyers and Bill can’t produce enough lies to keep Hillary from perjuring herself in a congressional hearing. Get it? “SPECIAL MISSION” Not ‘consulate.’
“Repubs had all the political will.....”
yeah...sorta...as I recall ...after all that ..it was the Republican Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, who wound up resigning!!
The whole thing makes me sick to my stomach.
Over the course, I expect Rubio to go straight down the middle, regularly throwing 4 out of 10 bare bones to conservatives and the rest to the Establishment, who can make him or break him. Right up through the primaries, we get the wind up our skirts by these wannabe’s with short records, and then get rolled to the curb by the nominee and our own party.
I’ll take the long termers like Newt, for example, who ate Democrats for breakfast for years, with a record to prove it. But, I’m old school.
Conservatives will never win another election in the Republican Party, and have even less chance in a Third Party.
We’ll be lucky to escape the country with our lives before this ends.
I hope so, too. But power corrupts. Even with as much respect as I have for Sen. Rubio, you can't really trust the powerful to police themselves. I'm not sure what it is, but someone in government willing to throw themselves on their sword so the truth comes out will be very hard to find.
Policing the powerful was supposed to be the job of the press. We'll see how that goes.
I don't mean to be a downer, but it's hard to be optimistic any more.
