Walmart, the world's largest retailer, announced it will not be pulling the type of weapon used in the Newtown school massacre off its shelves, while another major retailer announced it would.

Walmart confirmed Tuesday that it does sell the Bushmaster Sporting Rifle at its stores and plans to continue to do so.

"We have made no changes to the assortment of guns we sell in our stores," Walmart spokesperson Kory Lundberg said in a written statement.

Gutsy of them to come forward and say that they are *not* pulling it. They could more easily have said nothing. This is a positive development.

Rabid, frothing at the mouth, liberal anti-gun nuts don’t shop at Walmart anyway.

Good, there really is no reason to do any of this especially because all of this is not based on knowledge of the background behind the events leading up to the massacre.

And, they aren't price gouging.
I got 12 boxes of .223 yesterday at their normal price.

It won't be a matter of whether or not they stock it - it'll be whether or not it's in stock.

Whoever made the decision to stop selling guns at Dicks Sporting goods and then announce it to the world should be fired immediately.

All it did for Dicks was to draw unnecessary attention to the company and give it bad publicity on both sides of the argument. Anyone who had an issue with Dicks selling guns before will not be convinced to start shopping there now and anyone who thought it was great that Dicks sold guns is now less likely to shop there for anything ever again.

Political correctness kills. It kills children who are trapped in classrooms and it kills companies that react to such tragedies by making stupid policy changes in knee jerk response.

Wal Mart is making a smart business decision.

They tend to do that a lot. That is why they are the largest company in the world.

Considering arms are by and large made in America, we like Walmart about this stand.

Now, can they please sell more American goods?

Good for them. But aren’t they the same wal-mart that donated a bunch of $$$ to the obie campaign? I guess the silver spoon offspring of Sam don’t quite understand what their dad did to make them so well off. I understand the one daughter is “valued” at over 4.5 billion. More than her husband who is only valued at 4B. The just bought a ranch in WY or MT (can’t remember which) over 120K acres for close to 125 mil. Glad your purchase of 12 boxes helped them out. LOL! Maybe they’ll have us up for some big game hunting. Well, maybe not. At least they understand you don’t want to PO your customers like dicks did. Looks like CTD came to their senses after “reviewing their policies”. Enjoy your plinking with that “high powered” ammo.

Share the lead.

...at Chinese prices.

They have the best prices locally for long guns.

They are astute. They know which way the wind blows.

The hysteria will die down and this gun-grab will go nowhere. Gun owners and Constitutionalists though have a long memory. They will remember the names of the politicians and businesses who did not support them and will act accordingly.

Sell your stock in Dicks Sporting Goods.

No need to pull them off the shelves, they were all sold a couple days ago and back ordered for the next 6 months.

Smart move on their part. Dick’s (Dickless) will be filing bankruptcy before the next year’s out, I predict. I plan on helping them get there by not shopping there and informing everyone I know to do the same. Prices are way too high anyway.

Now if we can bring back supply of 90% of what Walmart sells to America, we would not need so many government jobs.

Come on America, what is it?

We need jobs. If we cannot get them from manufacturing, the Dems will make them up and pay them out of the clear blue sky.

Importation is extremely dangerous. We need less imports.

Make stuff in America once again.

Good for them. I’m glad to hear this.

They also sell some decent gun safes at a good price.

Here’s a YouTube link to a description of the safes.

The local Dick’s store is already on my “no shop” list but they will soon have much more competition to contend with. Academy Sporting Goods store is almost finished and will have about 4 times the floor space. The new store is roughly 4 tenths of a mile from Dicks and on the same street. It will be interesting to see what happens to Dick’s business. Will it fall off?

I normally don't, either ... looks like that will change.

A very bad episode of 'gastric distress' kept me away from Chick-Fil-A for years ... until the faggots protested it. I'm a satisfied CFA customer again.

I need to call Mr. Lundberg. Apparently word didn’t make it down to my local store. I just now called to ask if any were in stock (they were not) and asked about ordering one and was told that “the President” won’t allow that. I was sort of flabbergasted and said he hasn’t banned them yet, but she still insisted that they were not allowed to order AR15 style rifles. I told her she was wrong. This isn’t the end of this.
