I went to a gun shop this evening in the "South". This is a well-known gun shop but it's in the middle of freakin nowhere. Drove an hour to get there.
I went there tonight because, yesterday morning, I bought a "piece" over the phone so they had it locked up in the back for me. So I had to pick it up tonight.
But the real story was I couldn't believe how many people were in there. There were at least 150 people in there. All the parking spaces in the lot were full. Black guns were flying off of the shelves. Background checks were taking up to two hours because the system was slow. I've never seen anything like it in my life. They locked up the store an hour early so they could ensure they got all of the customers inside taken care of with sales and background checks.
In a related story, this guy that I know just went out a bought 7 AR15's.
Has it really come to this? I think the answer is yes.
Hi Cap mag prices have tripled. Bought 3/$36 a month ago, and same item on same site is now $30.00 each. If they have them. Other sites are backordered out.
You in VA, by any chance? Background checks set all-time record here today.
AB, “Has it really come to this?”
What “it”?
If the Jews and Gypsies of Europe had done the same thing after the Reichstag fire, there would’ve never been a holocaust.
It's just supply and demand. The supply is being threatened. People are doing the same thing with incandescent lights.
Town of about 4000 in Arkansas store was packed. Sold 35,000 worth in 3 hours.
It’s like that everywhere around here too (TX).
B.O. & DiFi are going to be the gun salespersons of 2012.
Our founding fathers were so shortsighted to not put incandescent lights in the constitution.
Sure must be nice to have that kind of discretionary income. Or at least a serious 'eff it' attitude when it comes to personal debt.
And not a dollar budgeted for space exploration, either!;)
I’ve got my eye on a walnut-stock Springfield M1A SuperMatch—if I can find one.
I am thinking of converting my 401k into weapons.
Even after my penalty for selling out early, I would have made more than that back in the first year.
I guess they just weren’t that bright. /s
My mother and father in-law (who both escaped Germany during WW II as children with their families) said the same exact thing.
He’s taking a gamble but he quadruple his money in 3 months.
My guess is, a 401K wont be worth Obama’s word in a couple years. It’s probably a smart move.
Another principle the Left cannot grasp.
I had plans to attend a local gun show this week end, however there won't be many bargains to be had, even in single action and collector items, so I may stay home. Of course if I had something to sell, I'd go, but selling my guns is like selling my children. If I offer a gun for sell, be reassured its a rotten piece of crap.
So long as they don’t make it illegal to sell what you have.
