Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) has an A rating from the National Rifle Association and a new perspective on gun control since Fridays mass shooting at a Connecticut elementary school.
Ive been a strong supporter of Second Amendment rights, Warner said Monday outside the Virginia Capitol, where he was attending an unrelated meeting. Ive got an A rating from the NRA. But the status quo isnt acceptable. Ive got three daughters. They asked me on Friday evening, Dad, what are you gonna do about this? Theres got to be a way to put reasonable restrictions, particularly as we look at assault weapons, as we look at these fast clips of ammunition.
Warner said his resolve to pursue a solution solidified over the weekend while attending a Washington Wizards game. Many people approached him to talk about the tragedy, in which a gunman with a military-style rifle killed 20 first-graders and seven adults.
I must have had a half-dozen people come up Colin Powell actually, Warner said. People were just coming up and saying, Hey, weve got to [do something].
Warner declined to elaborate on what Powell, the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and former secretary of state, had said.
Warner said he hoped that the massacre would serve as a game changer on guns, as he put it in a tweet.
I hope and pray that this wont just be a flashpoint and then recede into the quagmire of legislative non-function in Washington, he said. But I think youre gonna see at least I hope there are an awful lot of folks who, like myself, whove got an A rating from the NRA that are willing to say, Enough.

To the contrary, the US Navy of the War for Independence relied heavily on privateers, and was fortunate that there were heavily armed ships in private hands.
Let’s make the gun laws as tough as they are in Chicago. Works well there, right?
I can't believe that Warner went to a Wizards game and that there were many people there.

I agree these have to come to an end.
This mass shooting came to an end. The shooter had ‘hundreds’ of rounds of ammo, yet fewer than 30 people were killed. As terrible as that is, it could have been a lot more.
Do we credit the gun for stopping the killing?

Tell gun-grabber Warner what you think of his new position.....

“Ive got three daughters. They asked me on Friday evening, Dad, what are you gonna do about this?”
So now we have legislation by daughters.
What the &^&^%&!!!
This Nazi turd needs to be stripped of his citizenship and shipped one-way to North Korea.
Too right!
How did he win the senate seat when he held the entire state hostage for higher taxes by almost shutting down the DMVs?
Warner is a libtard of the first order...I weep for my state.
Virginia Ping! If you want on or off the Virginia Ping List, please freepmail me.

See how many supporters of gun snofinskation give up their armed body guards and armed security.
If only Warner could think with his man parts (his brain) before he speaks, it would serve him much better.
Oh, that’s right, he has a liberal politician’s brain. Never mind!
