New pictured released
After the family complained the restraints were removed and have not been replaced.
According to the U.S. Consulate the picture was taken in September before the complaint was filed. He was visited by the Consulate on 13 December.
(Promised to keep you all updated)
Story can be found here: http://www.silverstarfamilies.org/Free-Hammar.html
I apologize I am having internet problems. Could someone post the pic for me?
Well.
I apparently don’t know how to post a picture.
THANK YOU Doogle!
where is it on the site?
oh that photo has been posted before...*smiles*
Just to let everyone know, I spoke with the Consulate today. Hammar is ok.
I would imagine that he is scared, tired, hungry and dirty.
We have already sent a package and I am trying to get some of the locals involved.
We have to be very careful that we don’t come between government talks, (If they are having any), or between Hammar and the prison complex.
We are just working quietly.
Greta Van Susteren was throwing a conniption about this on Twitter today. Said she could not believe the US was not even attempting to get him back.
Please dont tell me the new picture is not showing on the site under this one?
Oh Ack
Well I can tell you this from what I have seen.
The Mexican desk at State will NOT answer their phones.
State itself seems geared to never have to actually talk with anyone.
Even the U.S. Embassy in Mexico City will not return e mail inquires.
Funny, I thought they worked for us.
Why is anyone surprised? To think that anyone in the current administration gives a rat’s patootie about any of us is laughable. If the admin isn’t going to care about an ambassador and CIA guys over in Libya, they sure as hell aren’t going to care about a *regular* citizen, even if he is from our armed services.
no, that’s there....but the latest I’ve found in the one I posted..
Agreed
Wonder when we lost control?
I feel like I work for them now and -—oh yeah. Never mind.
Nobody in this government works FOR us anymore. They either work against us or FOR themselves.
I heard Congresswoman Ilean Ros Leithen (not sure how to spell her name, she is the Cuban American congresswoman from Miami) say on Fox News that the prison where Hammar is locked up in is not under the control of the Mexican government. It is run by one of the cartels. Even if the president and government of Mexico wanted to release him they might not have the power to do it. We should send Seal Team 6 down there.
From what I have heard, the cartels weld “considerable” influence inside the prison.
Seems to me if I were a guard and the cartel knew where my family lived——well. Considerable is probably right.
It's pretty simple. Read this thread to see how it's done:
I will continue to keep this young man and his family in my prayers. It is so difficult to hear of his troubles.
