An explanation still hasn't emerged for why a man killed 26 people at Sandy Hook Elementary School, but it does appear that he attended the school as a youngster, Connecticut Gov. Dan Malloy told NBC News on Sunday.
Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother multiple times in the head in her home before driving to the school in her car and killing 20 children and six adults in two classrooms Friday in Newtown, Conn., authorities said Sunday. The gunman then shot himself in the head as emergency crews arrived at the scene.

This is a NEW story; three guns and it was the .223.Wasn't the .223 in the trunk of his mother's car ?
Magic bullets, just like Dallas.
Odd, I saw on my newspaper front page this morning, “No connection between the gunman and the school.”
Oh yeah—and chocolate rations have been increased.
It’s to the point where you have to fact-check everything the MSM tries to peddle. Print journalists are enemies of liberty.
I know some of my local journalists. Nice people but they disseminate what they receive from the Ministry of Truth, so ...
So now the “assault weapon” that was later found in the car is now the primary/only murder weapon. The semi pistols were the only thing mentioned until today. I think I see a forced narrative coming, along with legislation. It will let the pres and others say they did something to prevent future cases when it will be meaningless. Just like the Pan Am flight.
We should get to see what the coroner reports say.
One could argue Political Correctness is at issue in that our liberal pc-driven society has taken all the mentally ill out of the hospitals and institutions, drugged them up and turned them loose on society.
I heard the medical examiner this morning. He said each child was shot between 3-11 times and all from the rifle. The two handguns were not used.
Interesting. Nobody has been able to find any connection between him and the school. Apparently, his mother was neither a teacher, an aide or even a volunteer there. However, if this kid had been a student at some point, that would have given him something to fix on.
I think his mother was your basic codependent mother of a mentally ill child and thought she was his defender and the only one who could communicate with him...hence the divorce and the “homeschooling,” which does not appear to have involved any actual education. And she was the first one he killed.
She didn’t create him, but she was very naive and did enable him. However, what else could she have done? CT doesn’t even permit involuntary outpatient medication (thanks to the ACLU) and I’m sure there’s no way that either she or even her well-off husband, the kid’s father, could have gotten him into residential treatment.
The reports are that the children were killed in the classrooms. How are the children who are being led out of the school seeing that? The reports say they stepped thru blood and the police told them to keep their eyes closed.
I’m not getting it.
Patrick Purdy, Stockton, California school shooting, January 1989. That idiot also attended the school he shot up.
Now, it’s 4 guns and a shotgun was the one found in the car’s trunk:
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/12/16/at-least-26-dead-in-shooting-at-connecticut-school/
“He then drove to the school in her car with four guns, including a shotgun that was left in the back of the vehicle, and shot up two classrooms around 9:30 a.m., police say. Police added that multiple 30-round magazines and hundreds of bullets were also found at the scene.
The rifle used was a Bushmaster .223-caliber, according to an official with knowledge of the investigation who was not authorized to speak about it and talked on condition of anonymity. The gun is commonly seen at competitions and was the type used in the 2002 sniper killings in the Washington, D.C., area. Also found in the school were two handguns, a Glock 10 mm and a Sig Sauer 9 mm.”
Either the entire media is incompetent.Or maybe just the PIO for the CT State Police.
That seems like a lot of bullets, 3 to 5 magazines worth. It makes me wonder how long it took. If a guard was there, he might have had time to to get there and either stop or distract him.
I saw a timeline CNN put together. From the time he entered the building, it was over within twenty minutes and he shot himself when he heard cops in the building and he was in a room fairly near the front door. He had magazines for that rifle and did not use the hand guns until he shot himself with one of the handguns.
Too much raw, un-vetted field info coming in, and not enough verification of facts before public release. On a topic this sensitive and national in-scope, it makes them look like total incompetents.
“However, what else could she have done?”
Getting rid of the guns is a start, when you have a mental case living with you.
She probably had the guns to protect herself against him (she bought her first gun just after she moved to CT with him after the divorce from his father). And while I doubt that she intentionally made the guns accessible to him, I think she may have been in denial about his problems and probably wasn’t careful enough.
However, a mental case like that - and it’s obvious even from his photographs that he was crazy - shouldn’t have been living outside of a locked ward. Yet even if she had acknowledged his problems, I doubt that she could have gotten him committed because that is almost impossible to do now.
“She probably had the guns to protect herself against him.”
I think it’s pretty futile to try to protect yourself against your own kid, especially if the kid lives in the house. And even if that were the case, why a bunch of guns? One would think a single handgun could do the trick.
Don’t get me wrong - I have nothing against owning multiple guns, but I can’t see the benefit in having a bunch of them to protect myself against some guy that lives down the hall from me.
