Ms. Lanza typically came to My Place alone, said another acquaintance, Dan Holmes, owner of Holmes Fine Gardens, a landscaping company in Newtown, who also met her at the bar.

At craft beer tastings on Tuesday evenings, he recalled, she liked to talk about her gun collection.

“She had several different guns,” he said. “I don’t know how many. She would go target shooting with her kids.”

Law enforcement officials said they believed that the guns were acquired lawfully and registered.

Actually, dangerous people in general need to be hermetically sealed from “SOCIETY”. Loughner, in the Arizona shootings, is a good case to study when it comes to the legal hurdles that prevents removing these individuals from society.

We don’t know anything about Nancy Lanzer. So why speculate or try to judge her before more is known. The leftist NYTs is not the source I want for my information.

Where is Adam Loughner’s psychologist? This man has a history and it is out there somewhere. Let’s wait and not let the socialists define this man and his mother. I want the truth...not propaganda.

She was probably blinded by her love for her son and didn't see it. Or chose not to. Friends and relatives said they were not surprised.

As firearms go, a Glock, a Sig and a Bushmaster are fairly mundane although more than decent. That her brother is a LEO was mentioned above, and that might help explain her choices. My wife's family comes from upper midwest farm country and guns are just tools to her. They probably are even more so to a LEO's family.

Whichever Connecticut government agency was charged with taking care of Adam obviously failed miserably. Since Kennedy's Community Mental Health Act of 1963 (CMHA) this has been a lose-lose situation for the mentally ill and the people who come in contact with the mentally ill.

No doubt there will be lawsuits and there is a lot more information that will come out.

This is potentially serious. He may be just bored and have a Errol Flynn type disposition especially if he has had absentee or deficient parents. Worse you may have a potential sociopath who will become more violent over time. In any case a close watch is required which can be hard to do and get you alot of grief from wives or girlfriends. Because of the ‘anything goes’ culture that the libs have created over the last 40 years it is now easy for ‘Peck's Bad Boy’ to become a candidate mass murderer.

Did you see the interview just now from the coroner? Aside from he should never be allowed within 50 feet of a microphone ever again, it was horrific. The children had between 3-11 gunshots each. That was very angry insane overkill. That takes it to a whole new level.

I remember in the Columbine shooting that some stories counted the shooters among the victims. That's part of the problem of the current culture; not being able to flat out call someone evil who is evil. This shooter was evil.
