She often went to a local restaurant and music spot, My Place, where she sat at the bar, according to a manager there who gave her name only as Louise. Ms. Lanza typically came to My Place alone, said another acquaintance, Dan Holmes, owner of Holmes Fine Gardens, a landscaping company in Newtown, who also met her at the bar.
At craft beer tastings on Tuesday evenings, he recalled, she liked to talk about her gun collection.
“She had several different guns,” he said. “I don’t know how many. She would go target shooting with her kids.”
Law enforcement officials said they believed that the guns were acquired lawfully and registered.

I refuse to read this, but I’ve got an idea that the NYT is trying to cleverly hint that, as a gun owner, she had it coming.
I really hope the people that write this crap burn in hell . . . soon.
Marksmanship might help him focus his mind a bit more and, with his busy dad out of the house, teach him a little about being a man.

As for the mother having guns, well, there are many gun enthusiasts who don't go on crazed rampages. Geez, how many guns did George Washington have? Oh, yeah, he was a radical who turn on his English countrymen. The msm will spin this so there's nothing close to reality. Just like yesterday where there wasn't 10% of the truth from them.

One has to question mom training her psychiatrically ill son how to shoot and giving him free access to her gun collection. Flame away, but I sense something was a little off about this mother.
Hate to say this, but if it were me, and my son was a bit of a problem, then I wouldn’t have guns in the house. She had to know he had some ‘issues’...

I don’t see how this does ANYTHING but hurt the gun control argument. The legal owner used them for TARGET SHOOTING and the murderous family member STOLE her guns, used them to MURDER her and 25 other innocent people.
There’s only one detail that matters - her son was nuts.
That was painful to watch..was the coroner on something?? Someone should’ve jumped in to save him.
As for the details..absolutely horrific. this was an angry, enraged, vengeful killing. But why innocent children?
In most of these massacre cases people drop the ball. The way they drop it is by not taking responsibility for the situation. The professor/shrink in aurora who ignored the threats including drawings. The VA tech shooter whose parents shipped him off to school without treatment. This case appears to have a mother who may have been in denial. She may be dead, but that doesn’t lessen her responsibility if she knew the kid was a threat.

There is no “gun control argument”. We have controls. They’re interested in gun elimination...period.
