It would seem that the next logical step is to split the other daughter photon and create quadruple entangled photons...

You and commander Spock (from Star Trek) must have been separated at birth. My head hurts from reading part of the article.

In the future, the scientists plan to try to combine the position and momentum entanglement among the three photons with more traditional types of entanglement based on angular momentum and polarization. This kind of combined entanglement could lead to the creation of hybrid quantum systems that possess multiple unique properties of light at the same time.

That's what I'm waiting for!

Over an hour spent reading this and other links and no closer to a Nobel Prize.

This is about as confusing as when my dynamics professor wrote on the blackboard that “Every couple has it’s moment”.

This experiment and all its kin are “Parlor Trick Physics”, not that there’s anything wrong with that, but all the same mind-bogglediness is present in the routine explanations of atomic structure and solid state quantum physics. Just sit and stare at a piece of aluminum foil for a while. That’ll blow your mind.

No, no, you misunderstood -- that's simple hormonic motion.

Cheers!

I'd rather fashion it into a hat, which will *save* my mind. /internet-lore>

Cheers!

I guess I stand corrected. This is non-commercial use, but not “personal.”

Bummer. I wonder how long this has been the case.

“Every couple has it’s moment”.

I think it’s supposed to be “Every coupling has it’s moment”.

At least in my experience.

Too bad, other than that ridiculous “Lenin was a democratic leader” bullsh- they helped disseminate a few years ago, I’ve been pretty happy with them.
