A crazed gunman dressed in black went on a rampage at a Connecticut elementary school this morning, in a massacre that left the shooter and 26 dead others - including 18 children.
Adam Lanza, 20, shot his mother dead and targeted her kindergarten class at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., sources sais. Sources also told The Post that Lanza's mother was a teacher at the school and he "had a dispute with her."
Lanza is dead inside the school.
Lanza used two handguns and a .223-caliber assault rifle, an official said. The official also said that New Jersey state police are searching a location in connection with the shootings.
Police in Hoboken, NJ are questioning Lanza's older brother Ryan, 24, but he is not a suspect.

The deadliest school children massacre in U.S. history is the Bath School Disaster. This horrifying incident happened in the town of Bath, Michigan. The bombing occurred on 18 May 1927 and 38 elementary school children and 6 adults were killed with 58 injured. The children ages ranged from 7 to 14 and all were attending the Bath Consolidated School. The perpetrator was Andrew P. Kehoe who used dynamite. His motive: Foreclosure on his farm due to unpaid taxes for the school

A .223 is not the same as a NATO 5.56. 5.56 weapons can safely fire .223 rounds; but, a weapon manufactured specifically for .223 cannot necessarily safely fire 5.56 rounds. Trying that can result in an unpleasant surprise for the shooter.
And every teacher should open carry to stop the sons of Satan in their tracks.
The teacher performance should include a once a month visit to the gun range for target practice. If teachers really care about their students, they should do everything to protect them.

The cops are interrogating a co-conspirator from the shooter's family. His name is Mario Lanza and they say he is really singing.

The .223/5.56 falls between the .222 Remington and the .222Remington magnum varmint cartridges.
From what I have read in the past, it was designed (for the military) by the reloading editor of GUNS AND AMMO magazine back in the 1950s. It was then known as the .222 Special.
It is perfectly legal to use on deer in this state.
I use it to shoot feral dogs and varmints with my SAVAGE 110P bolt action rifle. Super accurate!
