You saw another opportunity to slam public education in light of a terrible tragedy and you took it.

Where? Post a link to the comment.

And you are taking advantage or a terrible tragedy to slam homeschoolers. You are no better than what you're condemning as you are doing what you're condemning.

Imagine that?

Hey! In all fairness Andrea Yates’ children were doing fine in homeschool until she went choo choo for cocoa puffs.

Would not say homeschooling sent her over the ends. I blame her husband for so many reasons.

OK, I'll bite.

Please explain what makes an AR-15 different than many other Rifles that are out there. Caliber, Magazine Size, Accuracy, Dependability, what? I own one and I've never killed anything or anyone with it.

BTW, Scary looking can't be one of the reasons. That's a Barbara Boxer fantasy.

The Gun didn't pull its own trigger. Would people feel better if the Nut just tossed a couple of Molotov Cocktails into the Classroom? Same for the Aurora shooter. He would have taken out a lot more people doing that. Closed in spaces and fire don't work out well for anyone inside.

Human ingenuity knows no bounds, whether for good or for evil. The Liberal Intelligentsia aims to control the psyche of the Useful Idiots and they are doing a great job of it today.

I grieve for those Children and their Families, but it doesn't lead me to blame anyone but the Criminal who caused such pain. And to think the great State of Connecticut decided to eliminate Capital Punishment. I wonder if they would feel the same today of the Perp didn't off himself but was captured instead.

In case you have forgotten the name of your list is: Another reason to Homeschool. The title is is a slam right off the bat. And you are taking advantage or a terrible tragedy to slam homeschoolers. You are no better than what you're condemning as you are doing what you're condemning.

This statement is patently false. I am slamming certain individuals that have taken advantage of the tragedy to promote a personal agenda. Maybe your conscience is pinging you a bit.

Yeah I pre-emeptively did what I knew what you were going to suggest and received confirmation that I was correct and you were taking advantage of a tragedy to promote your agenda. Another good Christian has called you to task for abysmal behavior and you don't like it. Go and talk to a member of your clergy as I suggested and see what they think of your reckless posts and comments.

I know you won't.

Re: Another valid reason to homeschool

Facts are cruel.

Fact: Crazed shooters tend to choose events and places that are likely not to have concealed carry permit holders in attendance, and they tend to choose areas in which guns are banned outright.

Fact: Homeschoolers spend far more time away from areas that a mass murderer is likely to choose.

Fact: If the time of homeschooled children is spent less frequently in sites that ban guns, they are less likely to be a victim of a mass murderer.

And your illiterate.

I'm not the one who calls eminently reasonable thoughts such as wondering whether to keep one's children in godless govt schools, "insensativity." [sic]

Insensitive to whom? You?

Concur.

Why was Andrea Yates able to kill her children when she went of the cliff? They were concentrated in a small area she had access to and there was no other adult that could defend them from the attack.

Which is exactly my point and yours, Morgana, about public schools.

I will assume that no homeschoolers will ever go to movies, shopping malls, or churches either. Because there has NEVER EVER been a mass shooting at any of those places Nope NEVER EVER, NOT ONCE.

I also noticed that you included softballmominva in your ping, even though she has asked you not to include her in your pings. You now given me formal explicit permission to ping you on topics you might have an interest in. And you will have nothing to say about it. Sauce for the goose is good for the gander.

Insensitive to whom? You?

1) To the tragedy in general

2) To the families that lost children.

3) To the citizens of that town.

You want to support homeschooling that is great, but Conservatives real Conservatives do not use a tragedy such as this to push an agenda. We deal in the arena of ideas not emotions.

As i have said countless times I am 100% behind homeschooling. I am also in favor of private schools, charter schools, and vouchers. What ever will work best for the family. Matter of fact I am so much in favor of homeschooling that I have offered to provide a list of students that I think would give the homeschoolers an opportunity to prove just how well their theories work.

Not surprisingly not one of them has ever offered to take me up on the challenge.

Since you pinged softballmominva without permission then you can answer my question: I will assume that no homeschoolers will ever go to movies, shopping malls, or churches either. Because there has NEVER EVER been a mass shooting at any of those places Nope NEVER EVER, NOT ONCE. Is this correct?

The Yates children may have been doing fine being homeschooled, but I do believe that Yates was in such serious mental decline at that point that HER homeschooling was a disastrously bad idea. I am in no way saying that homeschooling drives a parent to madness, but this particular parent (AY) had already clearly demonstrated that she was a danger to herself, and therefore should have been viewed and treated as a danger to her children. AY needed hospitalization, long term care. That never should have happened.

NONE of these killings should ever happen. We don't need gun control, we need to figure out when we can say "The safety of society is now threatened by the violent acts that this individual MAY commit." That is a loaded question, but I believe it is the one that needs to be answered.

Do they have cameras at entrances to schools nowadays? Also, why no talk of video of him walking into school? I recall Columbine had cameras.

To: Mr. Silverback

You misunderstand me completely.

My opinion is that there is a time and place for everything.

This is not the time for liberals to talk about gun control and the dangers of guns

This is not the time for some conservatives to talk about how safe their kids are due to homeschooling.

Both arguments have a time. This is not the time. This is the time to offer prayers for those hurting. The arguments, and there are many valid ones to make, should at least wait until the babies are buried.

However, in your opinion (and I speak of the universal ‘you’ not necessary, you, yourself) this may be the PERFECT time to talk about how safe kids are when they are homeschooled. In my opinion, that is cruel.
