((HUGS))Good morning, Beach. How’s it going?
Love the space antennae and Bunny ears!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Thanks, Publis...the singing was sublime.
La Boheme was yet another Opera that was blasted by the critics and public purveyors of moral outrage because it took place in a contemporary setting, showing the “grittier” side of Paris.
Also “Carmen”. Same thing.
Funny, but those three Operas (Traviata, Boheme, and Carmen) are in my top five favorite operas.
My other two favorites (Faust and Aida) passed the censors early on because they were set in far away times and places. As if the only folks who committed Sex, Adultery, Murder, and Mayhem only existed in mythical times!
hahaha
I saw a production of ‘Carmen” where the soldiers all wore post-apocalyptic-dystopian-industrial-neo-nazi looking uniforms. The sets were grey, grey, grey, and reminded me of the movie “1984”.
And, of course, Carmen was dressed so raggedy and slutty, that I can’t imagine ANYBODY falling for her!
In THAT environment, how could she even FIND a red rose to throw at Don Jose?

How's the shopping going? I'm doing most of mine on-line.

Have a great weekend!
