Track Palin, the eldest son of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin, is reportedly ending his marriage to Britta Hanson after a year and a half.
The couple, who were former high-school sweethearts, are jointly petitioning for divorce, reports TMZ.
Shortly after they got married, Track, now 23, and Britta, 22, announced the arrival of their first child, a girl named Kyla Grace Palin.
Track is an Army Reservist who spent a year deployed in Iraq with a Ft. Wainwright Stryker Brigade.
At the time of his marriage it was reported that he had planned to study at the University of Alaska after the commercial fishing season.

I’m sure Andrew James Prisoner6 is a name you
hear every day.
And “for the child” is a good enough reason. I wish they would stay together, they are only compounding their problems by splitting
I'm about tired and sick of folks here...ragging on what someone is named.
STOP IT!!
They had been a couple since high school. The sad thing is, he just got back from Afghanistan in Nov. I think he was deployed most of the time they were married.
“I wonder what in the world the Palins were smoking when they came up with the names of their children. They all have some of the silliest names for kids Ive seen!”
I know. Serious political families come up with names like Willard, Herbert, Chelsea and Malia.
He also just spent a year in Afghanistan- just got back in Nov.
I am sorry to hear that. I hate divorce, cuz i have been more than once.
My heart goes out to both of them. It is sad that it will be played up in the media due to their status.
The media sucks.

“....only 42% of kids are in a family with both birth parents.”
.
Not surprising.
Isn’t that the American way where 50% of marriages end up in divorce?
Back in the 70’s I worked at a small time smelter in the Seattle area and met Spike Nail (he provided ID). His sister Penny Nail worked in the office, and she was a cute redhead.
Try “Toy Boat” three times fast. Merry Christmas N00b! ;-)
A lot of these are parents who never married in the first place, unfortunately also very common, even at “higher” socio economic levels..
We figured everyone would call him AJ. AJp6 doesn’t have the same aliterative ring...sigh, LOL.
But when the SOS of AZ asks for a verification of the basic birth facts (gender, date, city, island, mom’s name, and dad’s name) and the HI state registrar cannot verify ANY of those facts.... and also cannot verify that an alleged copy of the birth certificate presented by the alleged POTUS in a press conference at the White House is a “true and accurate representation of the original record on file”.... that is a legal and public disclosure that a forgery has been passed off to the public to hide that there is no legally-valid birth record in Hawaii - no legally-determined birth facts and thus no way for anybody to LAWFULLY say that he is eligible.
And THAT is news-worthy, don’t you think? The legal question has been answered: He CANNOT be certified as eligible to be POTUS. Why won’t the media report the truth about this?
Giving it up because its easy and accepted.
26 years here. Not all of them pretty. But you make a commitment with someone you love and you make it work. Only two things are deal breakers: Physical abuse and drug addiction. Everything else can be worked through.
This entire family is a mess.
That all makes sense.
Thanks for the logical reply(one of the very few)! Saying anything even remotely critical of a Palin around here gives you the popularity of Adolph Hitler. lol
I believe what is or has been lost in decisions to marry is the feeling/attitude/thinking that the other person is someone to be valued very highly as a person aside from the initial passions of ‘love’. Through days of ups and downs and arguments it is this feeling/acknowledgement of value that nourishes true enduring love. I think about this after 57 years with a most wonderful and valuable person.
>> They all have some of the silliest names for kids Ive seen!
Said KoRn.
The least respectful here is better than most over at Yahoo, and better than the best of ANYTHING over at DU.
There was a girl I met years ago from a rival HS whose name was Nancy Ann...Cianci
I believe nearly 50% of ALL weddings don't end well.
