NBC Sports talker Bob Costas caught plenty of heat for launching into an anti-gun rant in the wake of the murder/suicide committed by Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher.
Last night, Costas waded into the subject once more, but this time he brought up the George Zimmerman case to buttress his points.
"What does common sense tell you about the likelihood of that confrontation ever taking place in the first place if George Zimmerman was not carrying a gun?"
Not so fast. Costas' own network is being sued for shoddy journalism involving Zimmerman's case. That didn't prevent the sportscaster from weighing in with more curious quasi-predictions like how he said with certainty that both Belcher and his girlfriend, Kasandra Perkins, would still be alive if the football player didn't possess a gun.

A skunk is a skunk. He can’t help himself.
The new Olberman.
Armed body-guards for me, but not for thee.
Exactly, they are both brilliant.... in their own mind.
“What does common sense tell you about the likelihood of that confrontation ever taking place in the first place if George Zimmerman was not carrying a gun?”
Sounds like a perfect argument for having the police avoid all confrontations.
Bob is Stuck on Stupid
Bob will promptly get a phone call from NBC legal department. NOW is the time to pile on. lol
The confrontation would happen exactly the same way, it would just end differently.
Pappy always said”You can’t fix stupid” and Bob Costas obviously can’t keep his mouth shut...it’s amazing anybody listens to these buffoons who apprantly the media believs are experts in fields they know nothing about.

Keep digging Bob. You’re still not out of that hole.
If he had, he might be the dead one and Martin might be alive - not the best trade for society, all things considered.
If he had not confronted him, Martin - skulking around between houses - might have gone ahead with a burglary, and he might have been killed in a break-in or he might have killed someone in a break-in.
One thing is for sure: Martin was in a violent mood that night and it was not going to end well for somebody.
Zimmermann's firearm prevented several less desirable outcomes than the one that occurred.
Is Bob Costas another sports news hack desperate to be ‘relevant?’ Maybe he’s the new Keith Olbermann.
Costas knows a whole lot of nothing.
Why does NBC even still have a license to broadcast over the Public Airwaves?? They continually demonstrate in spades that they are incapable of “promoting the public good” as REQUIRED for EVERY ENTITY that is granted the PRIVILEGE of broadcasting over the Public Airwaves. Take away their PRIVILEGE.
Go to his Facebook page. Certain to be action there.
I suspect that, if you genuinely believe that what you wrote is factual, you will be sorely disappointed with the way this ends.
Can’t find Bob’s Facebook page for posting comments. ??
Martin did not know Zimmerman had a gun when he attacked him—it was only when Zimmerman moved to try to get his head off the sidewalk which Martin was beating his head against that Martin saw his gun and tried to grab it from him. At that point one or the other was going to die from a bullet. If Zimmerman had not had a gun, it would have ended with him either dead or so badly hurt he might have been in a coma. Martin would have walked away free but might have been caught by the cops later that night, or afterwards when he bragged about the confrontation on Facebook.
