Doesn’t the current research support the idea that Caucasians descended from folks from India? If that’s true, how is a Brit and an Indian a mixed couple?

I would say most “native americans” could be considered of oriental descent as well. Especially those from the pacific northwest.

I see your point.

The most widely-accepted view is that the original speakers of "Proto-Indo-European" lived north of the Black Sea, but there are various other theories. I think some people in India claim the Indo-European languages started in India and spread from there but I don't think any non-Indian scholars think so.

The "Aryan" invaders of India (closely related to the Iranians) brought an Indo-European language to India in 1500 B.C. or maybe earlier--something like 72% of the population of the subcontinent now speaks an Indo-European language (Hindi, Bengali, etc.) while most of the rest speak a Dravidian language (Tamil and others). The "Aryans" were presumably white, similar to the Persians, and tried to keep themselves separate from the lower castes by marrying only people of the same caste. I think many of them look European.

The Parsees (Zoroastrians) are relatively recent immigrants to India from Iran (escaping Muslim persecution), and they generally look "white" I think. This woman's grandfather might have been a Parsee, or perhaps from an upper-caste Hindu background.
