Scientists may have finally solved the puzzle of what makes a person gay, and how it is passed from parents to their children.
A group of scientists suggested Tuesday that homosexuals get that trait from their opposite-sex parents: A lesbian will almost always get the trait from her father, while a gay man will get the trait from his mother.

Oh. . .I see a huge clash of left-wing agendas.
Pro-abortion arguing for unrestricted abortion for whatever reason; wrong sex, wrong eye-color, homo or lesbian, etc.
Homo’s saying you can’t abort homo babies.
Let the fun begin.
So fathers who love their wives will pass along their love of women to their daughters while mothers who love their husbands pass along their love of men to their sons?
GTFO! Homosexuality is a LEARNED behavior. It’s not natural. From a purely animal standpoint, the propagation of the species does not exist between same-sex couples. Humans along with primates and dolphins have sex for both procreation and pleasure. This is purely about “pleasure” for hedonists and sickos who had bad childhoods or were otherwise raised improperly.
If it turns out that they do legitimately find a “gay gene,” it will be an aberration in the human genome much like balding, red hair, or left-handedness, IMO.
Let’s face it, mankind is an evolutionary dead-end. We became clever enough to mess with natural selection.
How about a person with low self esteem gravitates towards an area where he/she feel they could excel. For a boy, he would be weak and would gravitate towards girl things for acceptance. For a girl, she would be strong and would gravitate towards boy things for acceptance.
As they get older the traits they developed take hold. For a boy, he spent so much time around girls that he also wants to date a boy. For a girl, same thing. She has developed traits that are male and would want to date girls.
Inevitably, they gain self confidence and for them being gay seems normal.
No government grant, no research study, just an opinion which probably makes more sense and cost a lot less.
“What we really need is some Federal Grant money to study this very important finding even more. Not.” we do WALFARE, SSI and SCHIP!
So, they are saying they have a “gay” gene?
I know the homosexual lobby has been chasing this for a while, because in their world, it means you are not responsible for your sexual orientation any more than you are responsible for the pigmentation in your skin.
Which, to them, means they cannot be judged on it because they are the same as someone born with a genetic handicap or various skin colors.
They are trying to extend this to many facets of life, including (or especially) crime. You aren’t responsible. It is in your genes.
Let me guess. Because they were molested by a pedophile? That cause will never be looked into by “scientists”.
Suddenly the unborn WILL have rights? It will be unlawful to “discriminate” against the unborn homosexual via screening and abortion?
For myself I don't know if the cause is genetic, epigenetic, or environmental - but I know that for myself I had no choice in the matter - at 14 I was irrevocably and unquestionably and unceasingly attracted to women. I couldn't have “chosen” to be gay. It wasn't one of the options on my multiple choice test of sexual attraction.
"THAT is one big pile of....."
Someone is paying them to find out why there is happiness?
Oh wait, they are using code words for the homosex mental illness, never mind.....usual desperate attempts to normalize the depraved and sick.
If indeed those “epi marks” can be tested for - as was hinted at in the article, then we can watch the change in liberal attitudes towards abortion.
After all, what might many parents do when told their progeny could be gay?
And - after all - that would no longer be considered a valid choice, would it?
The hereditary link of homosexuality has long been established
Followed by:
Long thought to have some sort of hereditary link
The science is bogus.
"There is compelling evidence that epi-marks contribute to both the similarity and dissimilarity of family members, and can therefore feasibly contribute to the observed familial inheritance of homosexuality and its low concordance between [identical] twins," Rice notes.
There's compelling evidence of a contribution of these epi-marks somehow that we don't understand so it's feasible that it causes my pre-determined outcome.
Thanks for playing.
If true, and one study proves little at best. Expect an up tick in per-natal testing and a swictch to a prolife stance by many on the pro-gay side of the politcal spectra.
As a truly odd side effect you may see opposite sex gay couples being tested to provide the highest possible chance of a gay child.

Will they compare it to genocide since it could put an end to homosexuality?
We are born into sin, all defects, physical and mental, are linked to genetics, duh! We live in a unperfect world, and their point is? Still doesn’t justify it for me. It’s still a sin that people need to be freed from. Genetic or not.
Well then, I guess if you have the gene that would mean you would ABORT your child for fear that they would turn gay?
Funny how homosexuals will become pro-life suddenly.
See my post above. A genetic link to homosexuality is the holy grail for homosexual activists.
Yep, if this Epimarks hypothesis is correct then it will be possible to have a test for it, like the current test for Down's syndrome.
And if it comes up positive, well then a parent can choose to abort their child because it's a Homo.
The abortion debate will then get very interesting
What will the Catholic church say about it? If we can mess with the genes we can eliminate homosexuality BUT isn’t this 10X worse then using contraceptives interms of interfering with God’s work?
Lots of fascinating discussions would come out of this discovery.
