PITTSBURGH (KDKA/AP) The Pentagon says a Navy SEAL from Monroeville was killed during a rescue mission in Afghanistan that freed an American doctor abducted by the Taliban.
Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas D. Checque, 28, died after being shot in the head Dec. 8, during the mission.
Checque was a member of SEAL Team Six, the same unit that killed Osama Bin Laden last year. However, it is unknown at this time if he participated in that mission.

Please remember his family in prayer, and I will update as I learn more.
Prayers up. God bless the SEALs.
Looks like ‘Gangham Style’ man ‘Psy’ got his way. 0bama shook his hand. Why do we rescue naive people who invite their own kidnapping?

Hi PAMom! What an honorable young man. He lived John 15:13: Greater love has no man than this-that a man lay down his life for his friends.
And obama adds another SEAL notch.
This one is awful close to home for me too.
Prayers for this SEAL and his family and friends.
And prayers for all of our troops who must operate under this treasonous and vindictive cic.
My deepest sympathies to his family, and to all who knew and loved Nick.
It always bothers me when I read of the death of one of our military.
I have noticed how often these elite troops turn out to have been elite men too.
Sneakers could I ask you to please ping our Q/R list (I’m posting from my phone). Such a heartbreaking story. Many thx for your help, PM
Petty Officer 1st Class Nicolas D. Checque, may you RIP.
It is unfortunate that most American’s are not living a life worthy of this brave young man’s sacrifice.

What a vivid picture of mourning. The nation lost a hero.
My thought, too. The SEALs killed a couple of months after the Bin Laden raid always felt like an unnecessary sacrifice. I always wondered if Obama had tipped off the Taliban as an apology for allowing the brave SEALs to get Bin Laden. Our Military deserved a new CIC. Heartbreaking they have to serve under the Won again.
Prayers up... RIP
Prayers offered up for family and friends.
Hand Salute........two
Joining in with prayers up.
My condolences to his family and to our nation. How awful it is to lose any one of these!
Oh no! Thank you for the ping! I will certainly ping the Q&R list!
Sad sad ping...Condolences to the family of this navy seal.

This page updated daily shows the loss of great Americans.
Averages 3 a week or more.
Yet the same news the scalded Bush continues to ignore these losses under the anointed one.
Praying for his loved ones and his comrades in arms.
