'I should sterilize you': Deadbeat dad of nine agrees to judge's order to stop having kids
Corey Curtis, 44, owes about $90,000 in back child support and interest to the mothers of his children
Agrees with judge's order to curb his excessive breeding as a condition of a three-year probation term
Americas most infamous baby machine, Desmond Hatchett of Tennessee, has fathered more than 20 children with 11 women
A Wisconsin father of nine who's behind on child support payments has allegedly agreed with a judge's order not to have any more children until he can show he can provide for them.
Corey Curtis, who fathered the children with six women, owes nearly $100,000 in back child support and interest, according to Racine County prosecutors.
In sentencing the 44-year-old father Monday in Racine County Circuit Court for failing to pay support, Judge Tim Boyle lamented that he didn't have the authority to order sterilization for Curtis.
'Common sense dictates you shouldn't have kids you can't afford,' the judge said.
Assistant District Attorney Rebecca Sommers told the judge he did have some authority regarding Curtis' reproduction rights. Sommers cited a 2001 Wisconsin Supreme Court ruling upholding a judge's power to order a defendant, as a condition of probation, to not procreate again unless he can show he can financially support the child.
'I will make that a condition of the probation,' Boyle said immediately, sentencing Curtis to three years' probation.

Common sense died in the 1960s.
“Americas most infamous baby machine, Desmond Hatchett of Tennessee, has fathered more than 20 children with 11 women.”
Hatchett is up to 30 now.
Deuteronomy 23:2
King James Version (KJV)
2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the Lord.
While they can’t order him sterilized, could the judge just order him to cross a barbed wire fence 1/2 ways and walk down it a mile?
Common sense died in the 1960s.
LBJ killed it with his “Great Society.”
He should have been sterilized 8 kids ago!
There is a slightly other twist to this story.
When I was a young man, pre abortion on demand and just barely the beginning of the pill days, a woman that said “yes” was also facing the possibility of spending the next 18 years raising a kid. As a consequence, they were a lot more selective about saying ‘yes.’ (Hey old timers, remember when it took three dates to get to first base?)
The solution to the problem outlined in this post is simple - first idiots like the one in question ought to go to jail. Second, WOMEN OUGHT TO REMEMBER THE WORD ‘NO’ AND START USING IT A LOT MORE OFTEN.
Of course, if women are saying “yes” because an additional kid gets them more money from the government every month, then that opens a whole new discussion..............
“What with all of these ‘Johnny Appleseed’ thugs running loose, is it any wonder that Amercia has become a food stamp nation?”
That’s the whole idea. Bring it down from the inside. They know what they’re doing and the babies can’t hope to grow up to be even cowboys (no offense to cowboys).

I don’t understand why he didn’t go to jail???
“Bailiff, whack his pee pee.”
Ummm....he didn’t have any of these children. Not one of them.
I couldn’t afford the first one (given some people’s viewpoint) and now number six is on the way. But none of them are on WIC, Foodstamps, or Welfare and I would sooner see them eat tree bark soup, dandilion roots, poke sallet, and sparrow skewers before going on the gov programs.
What do you want to bet the six women with whom he has had nine children, have a bunch of other kids as well (for which we are footing the huge bills)?
“While they cant order him sterilized...”
Are you sure the judge didn’t?
He made a condition of his probation that he wouldn’t father any more children.
(Wink, wink, nudge, nudge) if you get yourself sterilized I’ll let you out of jail, if you don’t I make you stay in jail.
Everyone knows what’s going on here.
And, as much as I dislike the defendant, I can’t condone the legal system twisting his arm to force him to give up what is a basic human right.
Because, if they can put this man in a position where he has to trade away one of his rights to gain his freedom, why can’t they put anyone in that position?
Get in some kind of trouble with the law (say have a tax dispute with the government)? Give up your guns and we’ll release you, otherwise you stay in jail. No force involved; completely voluntary (wink wink, nudge nudge).
Atlas Shrugged describes this perfectly.
Looks a little Amish? /sarc
All can be forgiven those who believe.
Much of the old testament is about laws that no man can keep. Christ fulfilled it all.
