VISTA — An estimated $100,000 worth of jewelry was stolen from Rep. Darrell Issa’s home in Vista last week, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Vista — AP Deputies responded on Nov. 29 to a burglary call at the Republican congressman’s house in the city’s upscale Shadowridge neighborhood, Sheriff’s Department records show. The incident occurred between 6:40 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. that day.
More than 50 pieces of jewelry were stolen, including watches, earrings, rings and bracelets, according to department records.

The only proven method of creating general prosperity is to create as many rich people as possible. I have worked for 2 very rich people in privately owned companies for a span of 23 years, and I did not detect a shred of bias against middle class in their bones. Just the opposite.
One reason China is growing 4 times faster than US is because they are creating more rich people. Now there are 147 Billionaires and one MILLION millionaires in China while during Mao’s time there were only a handful and they were the ruling members of communist party.
Back to rep. Issa, can you spell out one single legislative move he has backed which would harm any business from growing?
Where is the law against Issa creating a product and making millions? Besides the valuable taken - that they were after - were priceless - a laptop and other documents.

I realzie that issa is what one might call an out spoken conservative, but I’ve also noticed that the only time conservatives speak out against anything is when doing so is of absolutely no real consequence whatsoever.

Apparently, I’m four years ahead of you on knowing about the GOP. It was more than evident in ‘08 to me. So this time - ‘12 - the GOP didn’t disappoint but the ‘still clueless’ voters did!
I suspected then as well, but I’ll say that it was not crystal clear to me at that time.

The implication is that Issa became wealthy through government service. As you now know Issa made his fortune in the private sector, long before heading to Congress.
Wouldn’t we all be better off with a Congress full of successful, wealthy, entrepreneurial businessmen. I’d love it if the majority of Congress were self-made millionaires/billionaires. They know how the economy really works, they’ve built something, created jobs and met payrolls. They know how regulation and high taxing hurts.
They didn’t ‘get theirs’ from the government. They earned it. They took risks that have been rewarded A problem we seem to have is failure to recognize the rewards of risk. If that’s not class envy, I don’t know what is. They could also have lost everything.
The 2 rich people I have known and worked for were in industrial machinery manufacturing and contract services to governments.
There is no fiscal cliff. It is more like a gentle slope. Nothing much happens on Jan 1st. The tax rates going up on Jan 1, 2013 will not be paid until April 15, 2014.
I actually like the so called Fiscal Cliff (FC). It is the only way we will get some real cuts in spending. There is no other way the politicians will vote for serious spending cuts.
I hate the military cuts, but we are bankrupt country by any measure. It is foolish to maintain 800 military bases in foreign lands on money borrowed from China. It is more stupid to protect oil lanes to China in the middle-east with money borrowed from China. Lose-Lose for us, win-win for China. We need to wake up otherwise we will be Greece in 3-5 years and China will own our companies, buildings, golf courses, and many other business assets.
I would rather take the long tough road of austerity and a long term recovery for younger generations. Going bankrupt will be far worse. Borrowing 41 cents out of every dollar spent is the real fiscal cliff.
On subject of rich people, they got rich by creating products and services people need and buy. When Bill Gates invented Windows operating system and became world’s richest person, he did not steal money from my pocket or yours. His products increased productivity and created million times more wealth that his personal wealth.
This is the point leftists and socialists do not get, and our politicians do a poor job of explaining to the unwashed masses. Wealth is not a fixed pot to be distributed. Wealth must be created year after year so more can share. It is as dynamic as anything gets.
Perhaps it wold be better if they were all such. What makes it not better is that they are absolutely trying to close the door on the rest of us with their idiot polcies and deal making.
I understand that he made his money legit. He is still now a member of the GOP and the federal government of the USA, and neither of those are a friend to anyone.
FYI. Issa has a bit of a checkered past with an arrest for the theft of a Maserati when he was in his early twenties. He also was convicted of carrying an unregistered fire arm.
He is a guy who dropped out of high school to go into the military, got a GED, graduated college, went BACK into the military as a Lieutenant. Once he left the Military and moved back to Cleveland he and his wife sold their cars leveraged all their savings and borrowed $50,000. to invest in Quantum Enterprises a company run by a friend. He rebuilt a struggling car alarm manufacturer and sold it, moved to California to work for that company. He then started his own business, an auto aftermarket electronics company. He built it to the largest in his industry and became fabulously wealthy while employing thousands of well paid Americans.
He has NEVER voted for a tax increase and he NEVER said that the government needs more money.> Your anger is simply misplaced. If we had more Reps in Government like Issa, we would have many fewer problems and a much better economy. Try directing your anger to the Pelosis, Reids, & Kerrys, and others that are wealthy through no work of their own. Who stole or married their way into wealth and consider you and the rest of us as stupid mouth breathers who are on this planet in order to be fleeced by them to add to their power.
I have no problem at all with people creating wealth. That is what America is about.
I do have a serious problem with wealthy people going to Washington and using the power we gave them to close the door on the rest of us, which is exactly what they are doing.
They are attempting to create two classes of people in this country. The ruling class and its subjects, and that is all there is to it.
With regard to the fiscal cliff, whatever it is or is not, it is a lodestone that is going to be hung around the necks of the GOP in such a manner that they will never be able to remove it. What makes it more ironic is that they negotiated into existence their own lodestone, and now they are putting it around their own neck.
What the fiscal cliff actually is is a perfect illustration of just how stupid the stupid party actually is.
