Vatican to begin tracking clergy and employees with RFID cards

We have learned today that the Vatican has decided to use an ID card that has a micro-chip device embedded inside the card that is capable of being used as a tracking device. This card will be given to clergy and employees. A source inside the Vatican acknowledged that they have been thinking about this for years, but declined to give any details of the discussions. The common name for such devices is RFID or Radio Frequency Identification devices.

The issuance of these devices will probably take place on or about Jan. 1, 2013. The Vatican sees the need for the tracking cards because of the conviction of a person for stealing the pontiff's private documents and leaking them to an Italian journalist in an “embarrassing security breach that rocked the Vatican earlier this year,” according to The Telegraph.

snip

Of course, the ID/Tracking Card that the Vatican plans to implement does not (necessarily) mean that this device is actually the “mark of the beast”, and certainly is not the number 666, but is does signify that the Vatican has taken a new track in the way of thinking for the Catholic Church. In other words, they are willing to take a chance on new devices that are questionable when it comes to the warnings of biblical prophecy.

How long before that piece of crap Obama and the democrat party implant a chip in all of us to track us? They’ve gotten away with a thousand liberty robbing actions that the media hasn’t reported so why wouldn’t they?

This is hysteria about nothing. The “chip” is not implanted. It’s simply an electronic card that they have to swipe at certain points, just the way you have to do in any business. Heck, even back in the 1990s you had to swipe a card to get into the rest rooms in most big office buildings in NYC.

This particular event was prompted by the thefts of Vatican documents by the Pope’s butler and other trusted personnel who were apparently allowed the run of the place, even offices that had no connection with their jobs. They then sold the “incriminating” stories to the press.

Some of the topics? The Pope is concerned that Islam is going to take over and was worried about admitting Turkey to the EU because it was a Muslim country moving in a more Islamist direction. Or he refused to let the Irish bishops investigate themselves for their negligence in their youth abuse scandals in Ireland.

Not exactly damning in my eyes, but the fact that somebody was going around looking for things that might give the press ammunition against the Pope, supposedly this person’s employer, might give the Vatican a little reason to tighten up procedures.

This is not the mark of the beast, silly. It’s a system for badging in and out of places that are supposed to be private. That may or may not work well as colleagues and even strangers commonly badge one another in.

Maybe they considered one of the multi-biometric systems? If not, they'll learn.

Wonder what those cards will look like hanging around their necks?

Yet one more reason I stay out of NYC.

Did you see any irony in the Jewish kids putting "numbers" on their arms during the Coke/Facebook promotion? Cool huh!

Maybe they’ll discreetly build them into personalized crucifixes... seems logical for the Vatican.

Well in this case the numbers were to win prizes, not to get counted as lambs to the slaughter, but STILL... there shouldn’t have been a promotion asking kids to do that. It’s too creepy. Write them on cards maybe, but hell no I wouldn’t let my kid pen or paste a number on and I’m not even Jewish.

The Pope is well aware that the vast majority of his subordinates are not saints; some can be corrupted if enough money is offered. It is not a new aspect of the human nature.

I think you might have discovered a niche market there fella. Might run out to the barn and cobble up something.

It’s too creepy.

Pictures of bikini clad daughters whizzing around on the internet? Ain't happening. And in this pervo-world, pictures of a shirtless young son not happening either.

What happened to the simple life? I was so blissfully unaware.

By entering in two innocent words on Google a couple days ago, one of the image results of Google was a picture clearly showing someone’s bare genitals, even visible in the thumbnail. So I hit the handy dandy report picture link (it was an obvious homo site). A couple of days later, the same words bring up... the same picture. (You don’t have to ask Google explicitly for images to get these little mini galleries several entries down from the top.)
