HOUSE GOP LEADERS PURGED CONSERVATIVES USING SECRET CRITERIA LIST
Big Government ^ | 4 Dec 2012 | MATTHEW BOYLE

House Republican leaders used a secret criteria list to decide which conservatives to purge from powerful House committees, Breitbart News has learned. As this time, it appears they will keep the criteria list hidden from the public, too. Spokespeople for members of House GOP leadership have refused to discuss details about the list on the record with press.

Because GOP Leadership won't discuss the list, it’s unclear what specific criteria the list contained and how much of a role it played in the conservative purge. It’s also unclear which member of House Republican leadership initiated this process.

In remarks to the Heritage Foundation’s Bloggers Briefing on Tuesday, Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp confirmed the existence of such a list.

“We’ve heard from multiple sources that someone walked in with a list of votes and said if you didn’t reach a particular scorecard of what was considered the right vote – which by the way, in most cases, was not the conservative position – then [they said] ‘we’re going to have to remove you from the committee,’” Huelskamp said.

“All that took place behind closed doors, which is again a problem with Washington, D.C. – whether it’s the budget negotiations, whether it’s everything else, it’s usually done behind closed doors," he explained. "I think, as conservatives, this is where we can win: We’ve got to be willing and able to talk about things in public instead of being afraid of actual public scrutiny.”

Huelskamp later told Breitbart News he thinks House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor, and Whip Kevin McCarthy owe it to the American people to be transparent about this decision making process – and that they should publicly release the list.

“In the name of transparency and openness, they most certainly should release the criteria,” Huelskamp said in...

As I have been saying for the last 4 years, the republican leadership in BOTH houses and the RNC and RNCC are ALL socialists, New World Order big government socialists.

They are in league with the democrats, not in opposition. It continues to amaze me that so many still they they are going weak kneed or are spineless, the truth is they have betrayed conservatives all along in order to do the devils work, the One World Government, behold the beast.

Further evidenced by "Dubya" Bush popping out of hiding to speak up for immigration, of all things! His happy little North American Union is part of the NWO.

Who's blaming Ron Paul? Here in Iowa, his supporters are crazier than Ron Paul. Did you read the article? Those that were removed were Ron Paul supporters. Keep an open mind, that's all I'm asking.

Even I do not have a firm opinion if they did the right thing or wrong thing but I'm willing to wait to come to a conclusion.

I know Republican leaders have been criticized in the past for lacking discipline. Well, this may be an instance where discipline was meted. I have no idea what is right and what is wrong here--not yet.

Less than 20 Conservatives can vote in January to make Pelosi Speaker ilo Boner. (assuming that the ‘rats wouldn’t arrange for some ‘rats to vote FOR Boner.)

I try to be patient but considering the GOP’s track record lately don't expect anything good to come out of this.

Living in this country is getting to be a b!tch.

Republican voters cannot trust the politicians we elect.

We need to dump them all and start over. No wonder they have a 13% approval rate.

I suspect this is why Huelskamp was booted from the budget committee:

Funny how Bush II pops up now. He and his brother and nephew are the last thing America needs. The GOP-e has done enough damage. I do think it is going to get a lot worse for this country. Bonehead’s purge is just the latest indignity.

We’ve got a two-year window to file the divorce papers and make a serious move. We’ve got 2 years after that to build a majority.

Needs to start now.

Bedfellows like the arch-libertarians, the GO-Proud perverts and the peace-pipe moderates will only confuse the issues.

Let the chips fall where they may... better to make a stand. We ain’t gettin’ nowhere quick playing ball with the gop.

When you consider Paul’s ideas on finance

Which include his idea about cutting the defense budget?

Uh huh.

These Paulbots have been making our lives miserable

I understand 2 of these 4 endoresed Ron Paul, one received a lot of libertarian money, and the 4th would not vote against Planned Parenthood.

This stinks.

The defense budget is already being cut 100's of millions.

Ron Paul lives in la-la land.

The defense budget has a number of areas that could be trimmed. Especially in the area of foreign entanglements. By the way I am active duty and have been for the past ten years.

(I took that to mean that the leaders were preparing to return the president’s smash mouth style in kind)

Really? Are you sure it wasn’t wishful thinking based on no evidence whatsoever? I determine where politicians stand by their ACTIONS, not their words, or my own wishful thinking. Boehner has never been tough rhetorically on the President, preferring Romney’s way of doing things rather than Gingrich. Seeing as to how the media was not able to demonize Boehner, it might actually have worked, so I don’t fault him for that. I do however fault him for answering Obama’s non-offer offer with a starting bid of $800 Billion in new taxes! WTF? He’s already lost and he hasn’t even started negotiating! ...or maybe taking out tax revenue from the private sector is not that anathema to him. You do the math, but I recommend that you do look at his actions too.

About this whole business of why the 4 conservatives/libertarians were purged. The excuses offered on FR sound like the excuses of a battered wife. Think about it.
