Whatever it was, I'm just getting over it after eight or nine days. I got a flu shot about three months ago.
Whatever I'm just getting over had the symptoms of flu (respiratory congestion; nasal congestion/post-nasal drip; persistent and frequent dry coughing; muscle aches; exhaustion -- as in 10 hours of sleep a night; chills; loss of appetite), except for one: no fever -- in fact, sub-normal body temp, about 97.8.
So -- did I have the flu, or not? Is there a feverless strain of flu?
That’s called a Cold
The swine flu in 2009/2010 often caused severe illness with no fever. I actually had it twice (first time didn’t know what it was, others had it twice, too) and neither time had a bit of fever, although I felt like death warmed over and kept taking temp. I read that plenty of people had no fever at all with that one, even with severe symptoms. Immune system just didn’t kick in properly.
Odd.
Cheers!
