Poll: Repubs Getting Massacred in 'Cliff' Media Debate
Breitbart ^

Posted on 12/04/2012 10:01:58 AM PST by chessplayer

You know, it's tough to fight the media on behalf of conservatism when those elected to institute and protect conservatism have no skills whatsoever when it comes to articulating and defending our ideas.

According to this new poll, House Republicans might actually be doing better in this debate were they to simply say nothing. They certainly couldn't be doing worse:

While 53 percent of those surveyed say the GOP would (and should) lose the fiscal cliff blame game, just 27 percent say President Obama would be deserving of more of the blame.

The public blames the GOP because that’s what the media tells them is the problem. As so many posters have pointed out, the GOP is not even trying to counter the false propaganda.

That’s because there is no conservative leadership in DC. Period!

Yep. After every encounter with the dark side, the GOP trots Boehner out to mumble 60 seconds worth of drivel, then retreat behind the walls.

I don’t think “viscous” attacks work against a Teflon® president.

Massacred? 53% would blame republicans. Isn’t that the same number of maroons that voted for Obama?

No, they absolutely are not. The media wields as much or more power than our elected officials and they are corrupt. This is no longer about bias. This is multi-front war and our soldiers are fighting on only one front.

There is no way to circumvent the MSM. I mean, what would you do? Run advertisements? But the MSM will refuse to carry those advertisements. The solution is to destroy the MSM by any means necessary. It is time to acknowledge the real enemy at the foundation of our problems.

The GOOBers better give Barry Benghazi what he wants or the freeloading, CommieZombies won’t vote for them again like they didn’t vote for them in 2008, 2010 and 2012. This 53% of uppity freeloaders who want to blame the GOOBers need to demand that “Barry the Messiah” (BM) raise THEIR taxes! It’s not “the rich” who are demanding BIG, BIG government. It’s the freeloaders. If they want BIG, BIG government, THEY should be willing to pay for it.

This is what you get when you have NO LEADERSHIP.

This is akin to the North not having a General Sherman or the South having General Lee.

All CONSERVATIVES have is pile of $hit and we're being shoved in it.

Reagan COMPLETELY circumnavigated the MSM in his day by talking directly to the people.

Unfortunately, that takes SPECIAL LEADERSHIP qualities which there is a TOTAL ABSENCE of at this point.

The answer, here. is the same as on all other issues. We need to develop our positions into convincing arguments--to get away from the reciprocal hurling of ex cathedra pronouncements back & forth, which let the media then do the explaining.

Consider, Whither American Conservatism?; and Obama Or America--Clarity On Irreconcilable Differences.

For a fraction of the money misspent in the last campaign, we could begin to win back public support.

Odd, I thought people were elected to "protect and defend the Constitution of the United States"?

“they did absolutely NOTHING with it”

I blame them more for the class of 94 and the Bush the Younger years than 10-12. There isn’t much you can do with just the House. Unfortunately nothing getting done gets dumped on Pubs instead of the party in charge of the Senate and White House. But that’s the perennial problem.

I blame constantly surrendering the PR war and continuing to be the Stupid Party over squandering ‘10. That was a losing hand no matter his we played it. But must we lose by that much? Must we seem to like it? No!

Agree.
The ‘cliff” is just an Obamy construct.
There are 10 working days left in the old congress so nothing difinitive will get done. The Bush tax cuts will evaporate but won’t hit until 2014 taxes.
Still plenty of time to make corrections...

Republicans need a more capable Speaker of the House. Boehner has nowhere near the competence of Tip O’Neill and Newt Gingrich.

The GOP is done. I believe (and hope I am wrong) that the Bush taxes will expire and then put back in place but Obama will get credit for lowing taxes (Back to the Bush cuts) and the MSN will praise dear leader for lowering taxes for the middle class and he will be hailed a hero and the tax cuts will than be named after him.

And the GOP just steps into line and take the blame. It could effect the 2014 elections as the GOP is more than willing to step into line along with the rest of the sheeple

On the other hand, if they’re going to get killed in the media anyway, why not do the right thing?

Quote: “Reagan COMPLETELY circumnavigated the MSM in his day by talking directly to the people. Unfortunately, that takes SPECIAL LEADERSHIP qualities which there is a TOTAL ABSENCE of at this point.”

That was in the days when the Media’s bias was only in front of the camera. Now, it is behind it at the highest levels. The powers that be decide that they simply won’t cover anything that does not fit their agenda. If today Reagan were President and he wanted to make a speech addressing the fiscal cliff, the media would ensure that no network carried it.

It is very frustrating. As the MSM loses more power in the traditional news market, and it is losing power, it becomes more shrill and corrupt. Right now, the rate at which it is corrupt is outstripping the rate at which it is losing power. In other words, peopole might not watch as much network news anymore but to the extent they do, they are getting not biased news, but outright propaganda worthy of a dictatorship.

If you really believe that then GIVE UP and go sit in the corner.

An individual with REAL LEADERSHIP qualities has POWER and CHARISMA that extends beyond the bounds of any control, media or otherwise.

There have been many LEADERSHIP variations on many levels of life that they've attempted to quash but their particular POWER and essence were so in tune with the times that they could not be quelled.

Examples run the gamut ranging from Jesus Christ to Elvis Presley, the Beatles, and even Ronald Reagan who the media disparaged at every turn.

Times always CHANGE, but TRUE LEADERSHIP in any walk of life always bears the same qualities. They CANNOT be extinguished because they're DESTINED to LEAD.
