Police on Monday night released new surveillance video in the search for a suspect who shoved a man onto the subway tracks for a train to strike him and kill him.
As CBS 2s Lou Young reported, in a city built on subways, where millions move around town by train, it could have happened to anyone.
The incident happened around 12:30 p.m. at a subway station at 49th Street and 7th Avenue, just blocks off Times Square.

People in other places with trains, especially ones where the culture is to apologize to the person who has just stepped on your foot, don’t understand why I constantly maintain awareness of anyone coming close to me or, especially, behind me while waiting on the platform. New York, what can I say that won’t sound flippant? Nothing is going to bring that man back, but there will be hand-wringing among the professional opinion-pushers about this for a little while - how to put some blame on the victim, and excuse the murderer, since he’s a protected class.
sudden jihad syndrome
The Knockout Game usually includes a pack of rabid hyenas since they are cowards when they are alone.
Just today near the University of Washington (Seattle) I caught the news of a guy getting a beat-down by three men. No identification of either the victim or the thugs was provided on the news. (90% chance it wasn’t needed either).
In this case it appears that a train provided the knockout slam that would have normally required a feral pack. The coward then slipped away into the crowd.
Have these yoots started shoving pedestrians off the sidewalks and into the paths of trucks, buses, and taxis? Seems like a logical extension of this type of grotesque malevolence.
Not reportng the race of a pack of rabid hyenas is the media’s version of affirmative action.
It’s those wacky Amish yutes again.
“Dont want to be accused of profiling here, but Im really sure the perp is an 0bama voter...”
I got that impression when they described his clothing on the news but not his color. They do that all the time now; even asking people to call a tip line with information (while never describing the color of the perp).
I pity anyone who has to go to NYC for any reason; I don’t pity those that do it for recreation - they should know better.
Great song. I actually have that album on vinyl from way back.
This was more of a deranged homeless guy.
BTW, is anyone a little suspect of the Post photographer getting the pics of the guy with the train barreling down on him, because he was trying to warn the train conductor with his flash?
Thanks to loony leftists, deranged homeless people are not locked up in institutions where they belong.
Agreed.
(Though there are those who would argue that Reagan as Governor of CA was involved in the start of the trend.)
A little suspect??? Sounds like an out and out lie! You keep firing your flash at the conductor, (which we all know temporarily blinds the subject) so the conductor can see better???
