Boehner, GOP Leaders Purge Conservatives from Powerful Committees UPDATE: Boehner Scoffs
Brietbart ^ | Monday December 3, 2012 | Matthew Boyle

Posted on 12/03/2012 7:45:40 PM PST by Bigtigermike

House Speaker John Boehner and GOP leadership have removed several conservative House members from their respective powerful committee positions, Breitbart News has learned.

Effective next Congress, leadership pulled Kansas Republican Rep. Tim Huelskamp, Michigan Republican Rep. Justin Amash and Arizona Republican Rep. David Schweikert off committees from which they could exert conservative pressure on fiscal matters. Amash and Huelskamp were pulled from the Budget Committee and Schweikert from the Financial Services Committee.

Huelskamp, a freshman elected during the 2010 tea party wave, thinks the leadership move to pull him from the powerful committee is revenge for him standing up for conservatism. “It is little wonder why Congress has a 16 percent approval rating: Americans send principled representatives to change Washington and get punished in return,” Huelskamp said in a Monday night statement. “The GOP leadership might think they have silenced conservatives, but removing me and others from key committees only confirms our conservative convictions. This is clearly a vindictive move, and a sure sign that the GOP Establishment cannot handle disagreement."

Boehner did not start selling us down the river in 2012; wasn’t he doing it in 2010, or even earlier? The people of OH and the Republican primary voters never understand.

It’s not just Democrats that blame Bush; I do too and all of them! No Jebbie 2016!

Call House Speaker John Boehner Now

Office Phone Number: (202) 225-0600

I called Boehner’s office, but because of the “volume” of calls, had to leave a message. But if you leave your name and address you can ask that your objection be part of public record. I know it won’t change anything, but when the GOP “wonders” why it can’t win anymore, we can point them to this kind of garbage.

This is what the people who didn’t vote will get for their ‘principled stand’. They have turned the country over to the socialists. If you think things couldn’t possibly get any worse, just wait

I love asking these questions.......

#1 What good are principles and values if you don't follow them?

Romney supports giving "rebels" [Al-Qa'ida] weapons in Syria. Romney supports abortion. Romney supports socialized medicine. Romney supports "assault" weapons bans. Romney stated he was amenable to taxing the top income earners. Romney supports queers in the military. Romney supports queers in the Boy Scouts. Romney supports queer "marriage.".............so does Hillary Clinton.

#2 If Hillary became an (R) and was running against 0bama....would you vote for her? If so, why/why not?

Why is it again that conservatives stay with the Republican Party?

Maybe conservatives need to start running as democrats...

Like libs have ran as republicans...

Been saying for many years that we need a new conservative here in America but was informed that we need to capture the old back. Said that will not happen but the gop clingers continue to stand with the old winebidders of the gob party and many will not waste their vote on the new liberal democrat party of gobbers and snobbers.
Conservatives need to abandon that albatross and put on the mantle of conservatism only come what may.

( We should all chip in, and buy Boehner a burial plot next to Roberts.)

Ha, ha ha. Yes indeed. And make sure their buried next to
Benedict Arnold, their American forerunner.

Hard to imagine Pelosi has more balls than Boehner. Has there been a more worthless house speaker for conservatism? So tired of listening to all the wafflers as if Obama has titanium marbles.

"Did anyone challenge him?"

Newt Gingrich was nominated by Louis Gohmert of Texas and some of tried to mount a campaign for Allen West through the Tea Party caucus. Neither effort went anywhere.

I don't think there was any challenge from within.

If the Tea Party doesn't get busy supporting the conservatives in congress we'll be ignoring our responsibility.

Meaningless unless considered as a total percentage of the population, and unless compared to the final results.

The current republican party elite are working with the democrat party in a massive coupe!

The republicans are in the process of destroying the GOP from the inside knowing that the Conservatives are about to go third party. This holds little concern for them because they plan to join with the democrats by changing to the democrat party creating one massive center left party under democrat control.

Without viable competition there won’t be any way to stop their agenda creating a one world government starting in the US first.

I hope I’m wrong, but recent events point in that direction.

“The next Speaker of the House will be chosen shortly. Why doesn’t the whole conservative grass roots movement get behind an effort to replace Boner with Paul Ryan?”

Why waste the time fighting over the corpse of the gop?

“I’ve come to the conclusion that total economic collapse is inevitable. On the plus side, Eastern Europe emerged rapidly from the ruins of communism. A quick collapse, with a default on the debt, could force a return to the economic “state of nature” —a market economy.”

I don’t see the end result being like eastern Europe, I see it being more like the USSR.

As to who is blamed for it, that will depend on where you started. The left will blame capitalism, of course. The right will more correctly blame a legacy of profligate spending that couldn’t be maintained. We’ll see if the right wing actually addresses the underlying problems of the birth dearth, amorality, an educational system working at a 3rd world country pace, the death of the work ethic, etc.

That's a real possibility.

At this point, I'd take Putin over Obama.
