Washington (CNN) - Americans are giving the White House low marks for how it's handled the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, and the resignation of former CIA Director David Petraeus, according to a new national survey.
But according to a CNN/ORC International poll released Tuesday, a majority of the public doesn't believe the Obama administration intentionally tried to mislead Americans on the September attack that left the U.S. ambassador to Libya and three other Americans dead. And the survey also indicates a plurality have a positive opinion of Petraeus and are divided on whether the former top U.S. should have resigned as CIA director after acknowledging an extra-marital affair.

On Libya, 54% of the country is dissatisfied with the administration's response to the Benghazi attack, with only four in ten saying they're satisfied with the way the White House handled the matter.
"But that dissatisfaction is not because Americans see a cover-up," said CNN Polling Director Keating Holland. "Only 40% believe that the inaccurate statements that administration officials initially made about the Benghazi attack were an attempt to deliberately mislead the public. Fifty-four percent think those inaccurate statements reflected what the White House believed to be true at the time."

Another reason the public is divided on whether Petraeus should have resigned may be that most Americans don't think that adultery should be a crime under military law, and even fewer believe it should be a criminal offense for civilians, with that number dropping since the last time the question was asked in 1997.

Nobody “denied” anything to anybody.
The requests for security were the resonsibility of Hillary Clinton .. she either didn’t pay attention - or SHE WAS WILLING TO SEND THE SECURITY TEAM HOME - BECAUSE SHE HAD SOMETHING TO HIDE.
The President did not sign the CBA (Cross-Border Authority).
The CBA gives authority for military (or otherwise) to cross the border of another country - without the country’s permission - in order to rescue our own people.
OBAMA NEVER SIGNED THE ORDER - THEREFORE, NOBODY COULD GO ANYWHERE. The military was automatically alerted, and had staged for the order .. but it never came.
OBAMA WENT TO BED.

I think this question has been answered already at the election, So if they did their poll at any university, the answer should be a no brainer, anyway, I think that CNN never ask questions they don’t know the answer to
You must have missed the first Congressional hearings on this. The former security officer for Amb. Stevens repeated numerous times that requests for more security were denied. DAS Lamb, who was responsible for approving of those requests confirmed over and over that the requests were denied.

Right. Exactly what my post makes crystal clear.
But .. no one ever said who made the denial of security. Hillary’s name was never mentioned .. I found that odd. If Hillary did actually deny the requests .. why was everybody hiding that info. It was the station chief in Cairo was the only reference I ever heard about who stopped the requests for more security.
And .. the first sentence was really more related to the last part of my msg .. sorry if that was confusing.

No, DAS Lamb admitted as much in the hearing. Beyond her no answers were forthcoming from her or Ambassador Kennedy who is her direct boss.

Sorry if I implied you said anything about a rescue being denied .. I meant to say that I had read several posts where other people had mentioned “the rescue was denied”.

Only one can say 'yes' and we know he didn't from the simple fact that there wasn't any rescue attempt. He might have said 'no' but he didn't have to. All he had to do was remain silent. He did one or the other.
Well .. my Navy Seal told me NO ONE BUT OBAMA CAN GIVE THE ORDER TO SEND PEOPLE INTO ANOTHER COUNTRY UNDER THE CBA EXCEPT OBAMA.
Not even the SecDef. All the SecDef or Ham could do was ready any troops (which was done) - but neither of them HAS THE POWER TO ORDER THE MILITARY INTO ANOTHER COUNTRY.

No argument with that either. I do think they could have denied a request for a rescue but, as I said, the chances that they would are near zero.
