Consumer confidence rose to a four-and-a-half-year high in November as consumers became more optimistic about the outlook for the economy, according to a private sector report released on Tuesday.
The Conference Board, an industry group, said its index of consumer attitudes rose to 73.7 up from an upwardly revised 73.1 the month before, its highest since February 2008. Economists had expected a reading of 73.0, according to a Reuters poll.

I can only interpret this as meaning a whole lotta people think Obama is going to force wealth to start trickling down to them a whole lot faster.

Seriously, who is getting surveyed to get these results. I don't know anyone that thinks things aren't going down the tubes - and quickly. IDK...maybe the same parasites who re-elected a failed anti-American to the White House.

Either people have gone completely stupid, or there is something terribly wrong with the data being fed into these statistics, or both. After the past election, nothing surprises me but the truth, which isn’t likely to be used.

They must have surveyed the EBT card crowd - ONLY
To: mykroar
Seriously, who is getting surveyed to get these results. I don't know anyone that thinks things aren't going down the tubes - and quickly.Just folks using Pelosi's system of leveraging unemployment benefits, EBT cards, and other welfare expenditures to be even more of a boost to the economy than a strong economy with jobs for everyone would do...

US policy over the last 2 decades has been to underwrite debtors at the expense of savers, so of course consumers just love it. The Fed continues to reward them with cheaper and cheaper money
The Fed keeps prime rates at near zero. Credit cards run anywhere from 19-35%. Someone is getting rewarded, but it sure as heck ain't consumers.

Obviously the polltakers didn’t interview me. Having been unemployed for fifteen of the past twenty-five months, I don’t plan on participating in any holiday shopping this year, and in my opinion, the 2008 recession hasn’t ended yet.

Only the fiscally inept keep balances on their credit cards. It takes only a few minutes to pay off your CC balances with a line of credit.
