A Fox News anchor abruptly ended an interview when the guest criticized the news network. Jon Scott was interviewing Thomas Ricks about his book, "The Generals" when Ricks accused Fox News of hyping up the recent attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi.
According to the AP, Scott questioned Ricks as to why he would make such a claim when the attack resulted in the deaths of four Americans, including Christopher Stevens - the first U.S. Ambassador assassinated in more than three decades.
Ricks asserted the incident amounted to a "small firefight" and said, "I think that the emphasis on Benghazi has been extremely political, partly because Fox was operating as a wing of the Republican Party."
At that point, Scott thanked Ricks and turned to his co-anchor, who then threw to a commercial break.

I hope the guy's book sales flop.
I’m sure that no one needs to read his book to know what’s in it. He clearly showed his “leanings” in the interview.
My only surprise is that FOX even had him on.
CC
Who gave the order to our military to “stand down” and NOT implement plans to rescue our men in Benghazi on 9-11-12?
When?
Why?
When the guest referred to the terrorist attack as a “small firefight”, it exposed him as a communist/muslim sycophant.
Good for John Scott to boot him off and stop the dishonesty.
Ricks and his fellow travelers will declare his attack on Fox to be a great victory, much like the towel heads who got their butts kicked recently by Israel. Expect them to begin firing their guns into the air, ululating all the while.

Isn’t it funny, that to question the President’s motive and lies about Benghazi (a job the media used to do) equates to being political... GD the left and all they stand for, why do we even give them a platform...
My only regret is that we don’t see this type of response toward the liberal press. Conservatives feel they must be ladies and gentlemen when doing interviews and they’re having their words twisted around anyhow. Conservatives need to start a school for politians on how to do interviews. The Air Force had one in the Pentagon when I was there in the 1980s.
Communist hate FOX?...The only fair and balanced news in America?
Just ask that lardo with suspenders (BOb Bekel?), Allen Colmes, and the other assorted Commies on FOX, about bias.
That being said, I am fortunate to have only FOX for US news.
I don’t think news programs do this enough. When a guest shows up and refuses to address the questions, choosing instead to just regurgitate prepackaged talking points then he or she should be given the zot. I want to hear thoughtful discussion not mindless propaganda.
Ricks is a product of the Wash post for whom he writes too I believe. The press is not interested in Benghazi period and nothing is going to change that notion because it shows the incompetency of His Excellency.
However, I think we need to look at this incident away from his body of work. He has been extremely accurate in his assessment of our senior military leadership beginning in Vietnam and moving forward. Frankly his view of some of our senior general officers is not far removed from mine. Someone better listen up soon or we will not be in a position to defeat any second tier nation. He has noted that not since Korea has one general been relieved due to incompetence in battle....something that happened often during the past so much so that the comparison is startling.
He also believes Iraq would have been a bigger disaster had it not been for a fine corps of junior officers and a slew of competent NCOs, an interesting observation.
Absolutly correct.
IMHO everything else is secondary to those questions. Problem is, I don’t see anyone asking them, FOX included.
Amazing. So that's going to be the narrative now. All this was much ado about nothing and only the nutty GOP would be concerned about it.
Having an American diplomatic facility destroyed and ransacked, the American Ambassador and one of his aides killed and the Ambassador's body paraded through the streets, and two American security force members killed after hours of nearly single-handed combat...why, that's nothing. What's to get upset about?
Also: “the incident amounted to a small firefight”:
Was this AHOLE there? No he wasn’t, which means this AHOLE is talking out of his AHOLE.
The liberals are filled with rage. They won the WH, seats in the Senate, and House, and they are still filled with rage. No doubt, this situation will not end well. The liberals are tipping their hand, and our side is falling in line like little puppies, and still there is rage coming from the liberals. Always knew the liberals wanted it all, and soon anyone disagreeing with liberals, will be an outlaw. This planet has moved quickly to the 1930s. A prayer God will stop the slide, of this planet, on the razor blade toward the pool of alcohol. Too bad the liberals haven’t awaken to the fact that they too are on that razor blade.
Ah, the “Fox is an arm of the Republican Party” talking point. So fresh and new. Maybe they threw him off for his inability to say anything interesting.

Nighttime For The Generals
Songwriters: DOERGE/CROSBY
Well, it's nighttime and the long cars
Are arriving at the door
The general is having another party
With a congressman or three
And some guys you never see outside the bank
There's a laughing clink of glasses
And a polished click of boots
Bitter talk of a country
With a weakness in its roots
And it's nighttime for the generals
The boys at the C.I.A
Power gone mad in the darkness
Thinking they're God on a good day
They giveth, they taketh
They like to take it away
"Well the fools don't know the difference
It's for their own good", they said
And they shot blind Lady Liberty
In the back of her head
NIGHTTIME FOR THE GENERALS
