United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice will meet with senators on Capitol Hill Tuesday to answer questions about the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya. CBS News has learned her appearance will include a morning meeting with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who has been among her biggest critics since her initial remarks on the attack.
Rice has come under fire from Republicans for her initial account of the attack five days after it took place, when she suggested that there was no evidence the incident was an act of terrorism. On CBS News' "Face the Nation," in one example, she said the "assessment at present" was that "based on the best information we have to date...it began spontaneously in Benhgazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo, where of course as you know there was a violent protest outside our embassy sparked by this hateful video." She added that "extremist elements" then joined the effort.
The White House later said the assault was a preplanned terror attack, and some Republicans have suggested that they would block Rice's possible nomination to become Secretary of State for her role in what some say was a cover-up by the administration. Rice and her allies said she was merely repeating talking points given to her by the CIA and approved by the wider intelligence community. She said she "made clear that the information was preliminary, and that our investigations would give us the definitive answers."

The day I never have to see that man’s face on television or his name in any news story will be a good day indeed.
LOL. Ditto.
Nothing GOOD can come of this!
From your lips to God's ears, but the opposite is true.....HE is getting flipped.
Group HUG!!!
It seems like every conservative voice has gone home since the election. The talk shows play Christmas bumper music, or reruns, and the repub establishment is back to their old tricks on the hill. Why isn’t Sarah out there with a bullhorn, where’s Newt? The tent just folded up leaving conservatives left in the cold. This stupid game of pretending we are represented in DC is getting real old.
they have sites on Obama
No sign of McConnell.
And nothing indicating that the GOP will raise hell or even fight. All the Dims need is a majority vote, but they want the Republicans to jump through their hoops first and then sign on, which they will.
Disgusting wimps.
No accountability, money never accounted for, no budget. No transparency in foreign affairs, spending, embassy murders, Funding and empowering Egypt Muslim Brotherhood. UN globalist agenda moves forward. Corrupt DOJ lies to congress...still oversees justice
Rice is a Clintonite, comes from the Brookings institute that has been advising Hillary on foreign policy. Her father worked for the Federal Reserve.
Whoa. You really believe she will turn on BO?! Why would she do that? What makes you think this will happen? Heck, McCain has been Mr. BendOverBackward for the Democrats.
Are you being sarcastic?
All the RINOs will be gushing over her in the confirmation hearings. Guaranteed.
...just go away!
I mean the target now is OBambi......
bump
Double cross!
McCain had better make nice with her or she’ll kick his butt.
Nothing here. Let’s move on. Yeah!
Will mcCain ask her boss to come testify for her, since he says her asinine lies were his fault and any complaints should be addressed directly to him? Seems he’s left the door wide open for an “invitation” to come testify for his nominee, er, lackey or whatever. Will McCain rise to the occasion?
Okay, I understand that. Just wondering why you thing McCain would do that NOW...he has been soooo accomodating for years.
I tend to think McCain is preparing to cave.
How come McLame and Graham are back running the show again??? That poor, miserable Republican Party!

I realize this is a rhetorical question...but really, why the heck is McCain on all the dang time? Why is the guy who lost to Obama in 2008 the voice of the R party? Not that I want Willard to be the voice. But why in the heck doesn’t someone w/ some actual ‘heft’ step up and be a leader?
Gad...it’s going to be a very long 4 more years.
There are some who were with him in the Hanoi Hilton who can’t stand him. In his nomination speech he said “They broke me.” Did he think obama had something on him? Is that why he said obama wouldn’t be bad for America?
Voting for him is the only vote I’ve ever cast that I regret.
