United Nations Ambassador Susan Rice will meet with senators on Capitol Hill Tuesday to answer questions about the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi, Libya. CBS News has learned her appearance will include a morning meeting with Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., who has been among her biggest critics since her initial remarks on the attack.
Rice has come under fire from Republicans for her initial account of the attack five days after it took place, when she suggested that there was no evidence the incident was an act of terrorism. On CBS News' "Face the Nation," in one example, she said the "assessment at present" was that "based on the best information we have to date...it began spontaneously in Benhgazi as a reaction to what had transpired some hours earlier in Cairo, where of course as you know there was a violent protest outside our embassy sparked by this hateful video." She added that "extremist elements" then joined the effort.
The White House later said the assault was a preplanned terror attack, and some Republicans have suggested that they would block Rice's possible nomination to become Secretary of State for her role in what some say was a cover-up by the administration. Rice and her allies said she was merely repeating talking points given to her by the CIA and approved by the wider intelligence community. She said she "made clear that the information was preliminary, and that our investigations would give us the definitive answers."

I hope none of you are exploring a cavern.... cuz a cave-in is imminent
The fix is in.
According to “Bronco” she had nothing to do with it. I know when I have to explain the “Incompetence” of my superiors, I had “nothing to do with it”.
nope...she is gettin flipped
How come McLame and Graham are back running the show again??? That poor, miserable Republican Party!
Can you just imagine McCain’s statement after the meeting: “My friends, we have nothing to fear from a Susan Rice State Department...”
McCain is already backtracking.
Look for new found “understanding” and a rubber stamp to come.
who didn’t see this coming? These asses just keep jabbing at us and it never seems to end. Can’t stand any of them anymore. McLame has been the least liked and he continues to betray us.
? What do you mean?
Today's Republican Party: The house built on sand.
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.
- Matthew 7:24-27
McCain will fold like a three legged card table.
McCain will surrender, same as always.
He will crawl out with his tail between his legs, mumble about being satisfied with her response, and that will be that.
This is a dog and pony show. She would not be meeting with him if the fix was not already in place.
Yea. The fix is in. McLame will come out of their little meeting stammering, stuttering and drooling like a complete idiot. Then he’ll tell everyone how she was set up, how she is really a very good choice. And, oh, by the way, gives great, ah, um, er, testimony on why she did what she did.
