CNN poll: More Americans would blame Republicans if country went off fiscal cliff
Washington Examiner ^ | November 26, 2012 | Charlie Spiering

A new CNN poll shows that more Americans would blame Republicans if the country went off the fiscal cliff rather than President Obama.

45 percent of those polled by CNN said they would blame Republicans more; 34 percent said they would blame Obama.

But Republicans might have a political opportunity if they can convince Americans that President Obama is not working to cooperate with Republicans.

According to CNN, nearly half say Obama is not doing enough to cooperate with the Republicans, although seven in ten want him to compromise with the GOP.

Polls showed Congress had something like a 13% approval rating before the elections... and yet most representatives kept their seats.

Of course...CNN has already told America to blame the Republicans.

Of course it’s Republicans fault. Republicans are just a bunch of angry old white men. Definitely not cool. So, if something bad happens, it’s got to be those uncool people that did it.

Americans are so freakin’ stupid, they have no idea what the fiscal cliff is, or how it will affect them, but they know Republicans are to blame.

I hate the public, and I’ll enjoy watching them suffer.

Must be true: Eva Longoria and Beyonce blame Republicans, too.

Amazing what the left has accomplished. Moved this country toward communism. Kissed the bearded faces of savages. Allowed Americans to be killed in Benghazi. Set the stage to raise taxes.
And put the blame on Republicans!

Not really a surprise. Obama has said practically every day that it’s the Republicans’ fault for being such obstructionists. Even though they have given him about 95% of what he wants. And the Republicans, with the exception of a few “extremists,” have been virtually silent in reply.

When I used to live in the NYC area, everyone thought that congress was corrupt. So they kept voting their corrupt, senior congresscritters back in, in order to be assured that they’d get their fair share of the pork and corruption.

I guess it still works the same way, with VERY few exceptions. Sarah Palin is one of the few who actually turned back federal pork going INTO Alaska while she was governor, explaining that such corruption could no longer be afforded. But you don’t see that very often.

That’s actually an improvement from the last poll. Interesting.

Who cares? Blame me all they want. When the SHTF they're far less prepared and able to care for themselves than most of us are.

There's going to be pain in this economy for the forseeable future and obama voters richly deserve what they have wrought!

Probably a push poll by CNN.

Hit the gas and go over the fiscal cliff! The corrupt MSM will see to it that Republicans are blamed no matter what happens. Therefore, stand up and say we are giving Obama everything he wants! Hit the gas pedal and brace for impact.

“45 percent of those polled by CNN said they would blame Republicans more; 34 percent said they would blame Obama.”

45%+34%=79%.I didn’t read the whole article but isn’t the missing 21% a pretty large pecentage to leave out? Is this just more selective repoting from the great cnn?

This is what’s called “Primeing the pump”.
They are setting things up for the fall.
When it happens they can say “Early studies
indicate that the public blames Republicans
for the Fiscal cliff.”
The sad part is then the populace believes it.

Those who control the message, control the perception of reality. If BO was filmed raping a 10 YO girl and smoking crack in the Oval Office, the MSM would convince the majority of people that it was the GOP’s fault.

We need to devote our energies to dismantling the media or we will forever take the blame for everything that goes wrong.

Yep. You never hear Republicans explain why they support something. Conservatives understand why- but the ignorant public doesn't. Republicans have to make their case, and repeat it over and over until the low-information people finally hear it...

Nice spin in the headline, which should read "Most Americans blame both Obama and Republicans"

“Americans are so freakin’ stupid, they have no idea what the fiscal cliff is, or how it will affect them, but they know Republicans are to blame.”

ALL of my many in-laws fit into this category. They only read the NYTimes (if anything) and watch MSNBC. They get angry if you criticize Obama or Democrats and they blame EVERYTHING on Bush/Republicans.

Let’s see. Obamacare (passed 100% by their party). Tax increases, only championed by their party. Huge defense cuts, championed by their party. Yep...it is all our fault.

Who cares who they blame now... who will they blame in two years when all of obamacare’s failures and costs will be evident to even brain dead rats? The republicans need to speak of returning to the Clinton Tax Rates and then ask that we also return to the Clinton Spending Levels... but they will not... because they are losers and failures all!!!!!!!!!!!!
