A fire broke out during routine maintenance at the U.S. State Department on Saturday, injuring four maintenance workers, officials said.
The fire began inside ductwork on the building's eighth floor at about 11 a.m. (1600 GMT) as workers were replacing insulation, State Department and fire officials said.
Workers doused the fire with hand-held extinguishers before fire department personnel arrived, District of Columbia Battalion Chief Edward Mills said.
Mills, who was one of the first responders to the scene, told Reuters TV the cause of the fire remained under investigation but did not immediately appear suspicious.

Well, at least it wasn’t a nuclear submarine this time. Those puppies are expensive.
An excuse for “can’t find that file...”
Oops! Hillary couldn’t find her paper shredder.
Watch out!
There are easier ways to make a file disappear. Now, there is another possible scenario.
FYI ping.
Overheated shreder.
Now we know what they did with the Benghazi records/documents
Good thing the Fire Dep’t wasn’t told to “stand down”
Well, there wasn’t an ambassador in the building. On the other hand, DC is about as safe as Benghazi.
Just a little bump in the road. No worries. All the important people are celebrating Thanksgiving.
Classified messagesa from Benghazi were probably destroyed or damaged....visual evidence was probably lost too.....what terrible luck.....darn it!
I wonder whose office is on the 8th floor.

“State Department personnel were evacuated to a nearby facility”
“The fire was quickly extinguished and the main building has been reopened for normal weekend operations,”

All that paper trail did was leave paper?
I think not.
People watched. People heard those maydays. People spoke. Someone said, “Stand down.”
There are witnesses to history. Lots of them. This isn’t really one of those ‘the office of so ‘n so’ edited....’ LOTS of people know the actual facts.
Some of our boys sat on tarmacs, suited up and ready to roll. Waiting. In full gear.
Moreover, the paper trail (electronic and physical) goes beyond the Department of State.
